Default Help me find a solution please

I am not liking my hair right now. If I use enough hold in a gel, then my hair looks wet. But, without hold, it flops. What do you do for the perfect medium? Do I get something to scrunch out the crunch? If so, what do you recommend?

I've often scrunched out crunch with just my plain ole' hands.

Now I either do that or use a pomade.

Others use different things, and I'm sure they'll chime in.

I can't really use anything but a pomade or coconut oil to SOTC. I feel like I'm wetting my hair if I use creams or other wet products others use.

Lots of times I use bare hands too, if I forget to use a butter/pomade.

I had a thought! Maybe it's silly, but have you tried SOTC with a little GEL coating your palms!?

Some gels leave me looking wet more than others. I use BRHG sparingly or I look wet and have to aggressively SOTC.

HESMU on the other hand doesn't leave me wet. I barely have to SOTC with it. I just use my bare hands.

ETA: I just noticed you're using Biolage Gelee. I found that one left me looking almost as wet as BRHG just not as stringy wet.

I don't usually get crunch. I get out of the shower and while my hair is still very wet, start adding my products. I do not ever use a towel on my hair any more.

Order:

Leave In Conditioner
JCCC
JCRR
Gel of the Week - right now BRHG because I found it at the grocery store but I'm thinking of going back to HETT or HESMU.

Once I get everything into my hair and yes, it is dripping every where. Once everything is in and seems to be squished through. You can't call it scruched when it makes squishy noises. Then I grab an old t-shirt and plop. The excess product seems to come off on the shirts and I just don't get cruch unless it's a 2nd day or 3rd day thing. Then I get the FOTE and SOTC.

I love the Aloe fix but it's not enough hold for me. My hair would be a flat mess with only the Aloe fix. I have to have some substantial hold. I've tried putting my products in sopping wet hair, but hate it. I hate having water dripping all down me. I'm thinking about getting some JCS Nourish and Shine to see if that'll scrunch out the crunch. Maybe I'll try a different gel, although I love the curls I get with the biolage. It's always a trade off, huh?

I didn't care for JC N & S. My hair can take a lot of heavy product, but that was way too greasy. Ohm Hair Custard is nicest texture of all. KC pomade is fine, it's a little grainy. The Komaza Califia Moisture Cream does a nice job, too--or putting some of the Moisture Spray on your hands.

katina I'm one that needs tons of hold as you probably already know. What's been working great for me is using Pomade as my finisher. When dews were very low in the Winter I was using DM cocoa hemp buttercream or other butters. Now I've been using DEVA Set Up & above. I use it on 2nd day as well to give me extra hold and it works really well. I'm sure you can get similar results with another pomade if Deva isn't your cup of tea

I actually was wondering about the Deva Set me Up Del. Thanks for recommending it!! I'm gonna get some things from KM and maybe buy some Deva too. I think I'm just kinda disillusioned with my bob right now anyway and having troubles. I think I need more layers.
