I poo'd today :(
I actually used a sulfate shampoo. I didn't want to, but I felt that I had to. I've been having trouble with my hair, it's been kind of flat, and dull, and just sort of icky. I tried an ACV rinse, and it didn't really help. I spent about two hours searching this forum last night, and came to the conclusion that I had build up. I've been CG (I thought) for three weeks now, and for about the first week and a half I was using a Joico gel that I thought was CG. Apparently when I was reading the label the first time, I missed some cones. When I realized my mistake, I stopped immediately, but I never really thought to poo the cones out. Even as my hair's been getting worse, it still didn't cross my mind, until last night. Sigh.
Anyway, I poo'd twice this morning with some leftover Aveda Be Curly shampoo. I hope it's got the right kind of sulfates in it to do the trick. I followed with a deep treatment, and then with Aubrey Organics Rosa Mosqueta conditioner, then with my favourite daily conditoner (Calia organic). Yeah, I know I probably overconditioned, but I'm a little paranoid about undoing all the progress I've made. If anyone thinks I've done the wrong thing, or that I might need to do something additional, please please please let me know. I'm still learning!
I'm just waiting for it to dry now, wish me luck! I sure hope this is what I needed!

Well, it did seem to help. My hair feels a little dry, even after all that conditioner, but it feels like the buildup is gone. I hope I got it all, I don't want to have to do that again! Now, to work on getting the moisture back. (I can't believe I used to do that to my hair every morning!)

ABSOLUTELY!!! A good POO is very refreshing
likegum next time you feel this way you can always reach for a LOW poo first and see if it does the trick. You don't have to use SLS to remove all cones. http://www.naturallycurly.com/curlre...p-on-silicones
Low Poos are more gentle or you could try a Co-Poo. Laura Lee started a thread a while back about this you just mix Co-wash with some Low Poo, works great!

Well, it definitely helped! It took a couple of days of intense conditioning, but my hair is getting better! Yesterday was my best hair day...well, ever. By the end of the day, I had some frizz, mainly on the underside, but all day I had bounce and volume and shine! Yay!
I've attached a pic...
