Dark and Lovely???

Hey everyone... I decided to try using dark and lovely on my hair, looked at the ingredients and thought it would be amazing...I used the Cholesterol treatment masque then did a co-wash with the moisture seal condish.
I honestly can't believe this, I don't know why, but it's dried my hair out a LOT and made my hair extremely frizzy and just horrible and HUGE
Has anyone else tried this?
Or had the same problem, or success with it?
I'm beginning to think that my hair is never going to be nice!
I have no idea what to use xx

What do the ingredients in them look like? I looked up the ingredients here and they're full of petroleum and mineral oil, but I also know products are notorious for being different from one country to another.

Currently Using: Suave Coconut, Aldi's Biolage Conditioning Balm knockoff, LOOB, and LA Looks sport gel....cheap and simple seems to be working better!

Are you talking about the perm? What D&L product are you talking about?
No - the conditioners.
They have lots of mineral oils and petroleum and parafinnum liquidum.
Are mineral oils bad for your hair?

Yeah, i think they are. I mean I have been reading they are, but I forget why. I think it was that they dried out your hair or something.
Sorry I'm not much help.
"Bad for your hair" can vary from head to head, but from everything I've seen on NC, I'd say almost every mention of mineral oil and petroleum-based products (petrolatum, paraffin) is a big fat negative. I'd always heard mineral oil was bad news for hair & skin; and personally I'd much rather use a plant-, nut-, or seed-based (edible) oil than a petroleum byproduct.

Sounds like U.K. and Euro curlies have a hard time finding good, more natural products -- but there must be some, somewhere? Good luck!

I have the same issue with products containing mineral oil and petrolatum. It drives me nuts though because they usually leave my hair feeling so soft at first to looking like a dried out bird nest after a few uses, and I donít like to clarify often.

Thanks, I'll definitely try to stay away from mineral products - it's just all so confusing!
I went to the supermarket today and bought some 'natural' stuff... so far so good!
