Dog Groomer products
Ya'll are going to think I'm crazy but....
My dog groomer has some products that I'm thinking very seriously about ordering. They advertise no sodium lauryl sulfates, no color, no silicones, no EDTA, no propylene glycol, no petroleum based products and no TEA/DEA (whatever that is)
One of the shampoos has rosemary oil, hydrolyzed oat protein, sunflower oil (used for strengthening and grwoing hair). Another shampoo has tea tree, peppermint and rosemary. (used for itchy flaky skin)
The conditioner has honey, olive oil, jojoba oil, sunflower oil, and oat protein.
What do ya'll think? Should I try it? It sure sounds yummy to me and a whole lot cheaper than most CG products I've seen. I figure, if it doesn't work I can always use it on my dogs.
I called the company to get an actual ingredient list, but haven't gotten it yet.

My only concern would be the pH of the product. The pH for dogs is different than humans.

I've been a groomer for 12 or so years, and I've used dog products on my hair many times! (not since I learned about CG though, so I'm not sure how they'd be with it)
Some products were great, others were really bad. If you find ones that you like, as an added bonus, they can mostly all be ordered in gallons!

Well, Likethegum you might be familiar with the brand, Showseason and the Naturals line. It really looks interesting and good.
I would be interested in your imput too, both professionally and personally.

Don't know about the specific line you're talking about, but I am familiar with John Paul Pet (Paul Mitchell line). When they designed it, it was because the pets need a different pH than humans do. BUT...they tested every product on a human first. The shampoos I've seen are SLS free, just have coco-betaine or whatever it's called. They also have this cool tub of wipes (think like a lysol wipes dispenser, pulling the wipe from the top) that is for your dogs teeth. It has a minty taste and I know most of my classmates have these in their lockers for after they've eaten and had to go meet a client. They're amazing things.

Products
This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.
No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

I'm hoping that this might be the new "mane and tail" craze...except better.
I'm going to order some as soon as my groomer makes an order. The shipping is outrageous unless it is a big order.
The up side is that you can order a gallon much much cheaper than most salon liter sizes.

Hey, I did use my doggy's shampoo and the result was shiny, fuller happy hair. Someone left it on the tub after giving him a bath and I don't pay attention when I reach for shampoo. That's how come I washed my hair with bodywash one time.

I worked for Petedge (a big catalog company for pet products) and one of the product specialist did say you can use pet products on yourself but if you're looking for something for CG you'll just have to look atthe ingredients (which you can call any company and they will give them right to you (or if you use petedge you can go to petedge.com and they will be right there on the site)

Now you're all gonna think I'm crazy.
I already tried one of the PM Pet products. But I can't remember how my hair reacted to it. Sorry.
Maybe I should seek out a dog groomer for my hair!

Sorry to say, I've never heard of that line of products. Maybe your groomer can give you a little bit to take home and try before you order?
Let us know how it turns out!
