Default NO humidity

I currently live the the humidity capital of the world...Mississippi. After years of battling the humidity and trying to straighten my hair, I have given in to my hairs inner chaos....I have gone curly and LOVING IT! I still battle humidity but who cares.

Anyways, I am going to visit my parents in the desert southwest. I grew up there but it has been a while and last time I loved the no humidity becasue my hair stayed straight. So no that I am CG, what do I need to expect?

Other than my hair actually being able to air dry!!!
Any advise on products? I co-wash daily, leave in daily and there is no such thing as 2nd day hair!
The Plan:
Poo-less: Since March 09....If need be, I might use Burt's Bee baby shampoo/wash, but once every 2 weeks only
Co-Wash: Suave Naturals Coconut daily (use as leave-in too)
Gel: Aveda Confixor or homemade FSG/aloe
Other stuff: Aveda Curl Control, Jessicurl Confident Coils, and Jessicurl weekly deep conditioner treatment

limit glycerin in your hair products...or your hair will feel extra dry in the dry climate.
Maybe keep it more moisturized-- use thicker conditioner.
That's right, I said it! I wear scrunchies!!

I am a sulfate washing, cone slabbing, curly lovin' s.o.b. The CG police haven't caught me yet.

Use more products that provide more moisture and stay away from humectants. I would also be prepared for a looser curl pattern. And maybe bring a harder hold gel.

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

Ditto Sunshine on the looser curls. I'm always amazed at how tighter my curls are during a rainstorm!

Yeah, I wouldn't use glycerin, at least not straight. I don't know about honey mixed into whatnot. I don't use it unless it's in hot tea. And though some people LOVE aloe Vera, I don't, unless it's not the only ingredient....

So, with that in mind, my hair really likes (this is a mouthful that I hope I get right) Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic Ginkgo Moisturizing Jelly.

It also likes Kinky Curly Curling Custard.

My hair esp likes a hat that covers everything & since my neck is bare, due to my short cut or when it was long & up, there's a tail to the hat that covers my neck. No more sunburns & fried hair for me.

Knitty--I have no suggestions for you, just stopping by and feeling your pain on hair in Mississippi! I went to Ole Miss, whew! Big hair!!!!
My hair is insane, porous, fine, thick/dense, 2C/3A depending on the humidity that day.
shampoo: L'Oreal Sulfate free stuff sometimes
co-wash: Suave Naturals coconut
condish: GVP conditioning balm
leave in: Will try Tresemme Naturals volume (as if I need volume)
honey, FOTE AVG=my HG, Noodle Head mousse, HETT
