Fine hair, medium porosity
Hey curlies!
I just finished reading Tiffany's book, and I think I've finally figured out my hair texture - fine, with medium porosity and slightly low elasticity. (I'm not 100% sure... sometimes I think my hair is medium, or has higher porosity) I'm still trying to figure out what sorts of products I can get good results with for my hair type, and then I have to take into account Calgary's extremely dry air and hard water, ugh!
Anyway, I was hoping that I could get a bunch of people with similar hair properties to check in here so I can find out what you're using and give me some ideas to try. You don't even have to write anything, I can just look at your siggies
Thanks in advance!

I have fine hair and medium (most of the time) porosity.
I use the products in my siggie. Kenra and CK have been my loves pretty much since I started CG. A sidenote to the CK is that I also live right on the coast.
I`ve recently entered the world of kathymack soap bars and CJ products (listed in as current experiment) which I`m really loving.
The big thing for me is that I OC easily so I only condition once a week. Since I`ve tried the soap bars, I think I can condition more often but haven`t tried it yet. I do protein treatments (homemade) whenever my curls start to get droopy. I get more volume with less product but I don`t have a problem using a lot. Hair is just flatter the first couple of days after washing.

Thanks for the info! I will keep those products in mind while I'm trying things! One thing I need to take into account is the dry climate here. I don't think our dew point will ever get high enough to try any humectants! LOL! Between the extremely dry air and the hard water, it's a wonder I have any hair left...

Hi! I am in Saskatoon, so I totally get your hair situation... We've had almost zero rain all spring, and it is hideously dry and windy right now. It's hard for a fine-haired gal to retain any moisture with this kind of environment!
I have tried many things, and let me tell you - stay away from things like Curl Keeper at this low humidity - it makes my hair actually drier, although works fabulously if I go to Toronto or some place with more humidity.
In terms of moisture, I have used Burt's Bees More Moisture as well - works alright, and have also used both Live Clean and Life Brand Pecqi Fruit (sp?)conditioners from Shoppers - again both quite moisturizing, and both CG. And the Life brand one is about $4. I have also found Nature's Gate conditioners, and it worked OK.
Now, I use ABBA Nourishing Leave-in conditioner - although this is the old formulation, and there is a new replacement, I think, that may have another name. I then use HETT gel. It's not the most moisturizing combo, but it doesn't weigh me down. I find I need to rinse every day to get some water back in my hair, otherwise it just gets sucked out. I have tried Blended Beauty Curly Frizz Pudding and Curls Milkshake - make my hair really soft and moist, but again, I use sparingly and not daily as they get heavy for my fine hair. I think those may be worth a try for you (and I have an extra tub of Curls Milkshake that I bought on a whim that I'll never get to - PM me if you want to be the proud new recipient...)
Hope that helps...

My weather is nothing like yours so take what I do with a grain of salt. You can see my routine in my siggy.
