What to buy in the US?

Ok, so I have a question for you guys.

I'm going to New York in july (jippie!) and I'm planning to buy loads of stuff for my hair. I read about all these amazing funny things that you use, but I can only dream about most of them. (Although I've managed to geet my hands on quite a few bottles of Vo5, that I love to wash my hair in.)

Anyway, I know that I'm gonna buy KCCC and Aubrey Organsics Mandarine Magic, but what else? I will continue to search this forum for products, but if someone feels especially for a product, please tell me.

My hair is fine, normal porosity (i think, my fingers does not catch on something when I do the test but it might give off a squeak), I have 3a/3b curls, to the shoulders.

Thank you so much for your help!
Fine 3a/3b

co wash: Vo5 Sun Kissed Raspberry Herbal conditioner

leave in : Garnier Ultra Doux ŕ l'huile d'avocat et beurre de karité, Garnier ultra doux ŕ la nacre et cerisier

style: Vivelle Dop Invisible, glycerin, almond oil

Where are you now?
2c? 3a? Mostly coarse, but LOVIN' the proteins and fighting overconditioning! My hair is just plain weird

LowPOO; Creme of Nature shampoo
CO; L'Oreal Nutrigloss & AOGBP
Other; nettle tea once a week instead of CO, JCRR, JCAS
Stylers; KCCC, L'oreal studio line gel
Don't like; PVP, non-vegetable glycerine

http://pscurly.blogspot.com/ <-- my very own, dutch, blog! Check it out
Right now I'm on my couch in Paris . Sorry, maybe I should have clarified that I'm on the other side of the Atlantic ocean.

I kinda hoped the Ultra Doux would be bought in Belgium, so you could bring me something

I'm mean, I know.

And also, if you would have been Dutch, I would have given you an adress for KCCC, but oh well

Also, aside from hair stuff, we have a lot of fun food/candy type things that you can't get in Europe. Just drop by any grocery or convenience store and pick up what looks unfamiliar.
Not Cindy or Sindy or Syndey or any other such abomination.
It's Sydney, like Australia.

Draakje: So there is a place in the Netherlands where you can buy KCCC, do they have an internet site? And is there something special with the Ultra doux in Belgium, the one here in France is good to ?

SydneyCurl: Actually I was in Texas last November, and I loooooved to just walk around in the grocery stores and look at everything. I bought all kinds of strange things, all the stuff you see on TV , like pop tarts, ding dongs, beef jerky, cheese in a can (don't know the real name), and of course dr Pepper (I love it!). I think I gained quite a few kilos by doing that .

This time I'm only staying 10 days (4 weeks last time) but I'm planning to eat and drink a lot, and of course do everything that you're supposed to do in New York. I'm so excited about this trip .

Do any of you know, if it's possible to buy Flexi-8's in a shop or do you have to order over internet?

Isn't the store Ricky's in NYC??? They carry KCCC......the Aubrey conditioners could be worth picking up too since you're getting the Mandarin Jelly. Check for the ones with Protein since your hair is fine

When we first moved to Germany, I would just walk around in our local grocery store for hours! Didn't matter that I read german at about a kindergarden level heh. Then the international store at the NATO base was even better, because they had italian, german, dutch, and canadian stuff. Man those were the days. I still miss quite a few things that I could get there that I can't get here. *sigh*

Good Luck Maja, I know you'll find tons of things!!!

I really Curl Junkie right now. I have tried Coffee Coco Curl Creme, Smoothing Gelee and Aloe Fix.
I have read that the Hibiscus Banana Deep conditioner is great also, its on my I WANT list.

Karen Body Beautiful you can choose your own scents.

KCCC is a must. Its a really fun product to play with.

Aubrey Organics is a great line. Honeysuckle Rose conditioner is very popular. White Camilla is also wonderful. I tried the AO Island Naturals, the smell is a little off putting to me. AO uses a proprietary preservative, (Citrus Seed Extract, Vitamins A, C and E). They also have bottles sealed to help keep the product fresh. I don't know how long they actually stay fresh. I can't stay out of Whole Food Grocery long enough to need to stock up.

If Ricky's has Mop Top or Fuzzy Duck gel both are very good, not crunchy when your hair dries.

Grocery Store/ Dollar Stores/Fred's

LustraSilk Shea Mango Cholesterol Conditioner

LA looks gel (blue is popular)

La Bella for Curls (pink)

The selection of junk food is also stunning

I am such an enabeler.
