Also, have I accurately classified my curls? 3A or would you say I am more of a 2B?

love it!! she did a great job.

Jess the Mess 06-10-2009 07:35 PM

I ike it a lot. It looks so much more polished. The layering is great. How was your experience?

masa_inn 06-10-2009 07:53 PM

Hello, hair twin! :)

Me either, until I tried deva (no cap). :)

It looks great, brought out more curls. :)

Thanks guys!! I am really happy with it. My stylist was great! She answered all my questions and was very thorough. She was also great to address my specific concerns (i.e. keeping the length, avoiding "shelves," etc.), and gave some great styling pointers as she went. Also, after she had done the initial layers I suggested doing a few shorter pieces, and she basically started over again with no irritation, which was very nice. I would totally recommend a Deva Cut now, and I am most certainly going back to her for my next cut. :)
Oh, by the way, it was Kara at Aura Hair Studio in Salt Lake City...for any one in Utah.:)

Cristinabel7 06-11-2009 10:28 AM

Saw them :D.

Your curls are beautiful! She did a nice job at subtly enhancing your curls yet keeping the length and improving the shape. I am so excited for when I can get mine. The closest stylist is 19 miles away, though. Figures!

rbb 06-11-2009 05:20 PM

19 miles is nothing for a deva stylist, assuming she is good.
i drive more than that, and in manhattan traffic, to get to carlos flores -- well worth it. without traffic it only takes an hour, but because i never know, i have to allow at least 5 hours to drive in, drive back, and time for haircut, maybe a quick dry or not. but to me, it is worth it as i only go (well, when i'm not in the process of growing out my gray hair as i am right now) once every 4 months. and i have a good hair day every day.

Cristinabel7 06-11-2009 10:18 PM

Okay :). It is a little far, but for a great haircut like everyone has been describing, I'm sure it's worth it, like you said.

Do prices vary, or is there a set price for Deva cuts?

rbb 06-12-2009 06:39 AM

i would assume that prices vary. i think it all depends on where you live, what the going rate is for haircuts.
and, a good deva cut you only need 4 to 6 months. i usually do the annual cost when i figure it out. comes out waaayyy cheaper for me than when i used to get my hair cut locally every 4 to 6 weeks!!

Cristinabel7 06-12-2009 01:20 PM

Awesome :D. I am excited to try it out, then! No need for this "trim your hair every six weeks" business (that really did NOT help my hair keep its length at all).

waterlily716 06-12-2009 01:59 PM

The cut looks really great! I am jealous :)
