So far so good, the only frizz i have is from pineappling/sleeping...i guess i'll see how long my hair is happy for
Thanks for the tip! I've had good luck with the CCCC +Abba combo; I'll have to try it with some AFG in the middle as well.

In general, I'm finding that less moisture (no leave-in) and more gel is helping to control frizz in high humidity.

Yay I got 2nd day hair with the AMG. I just spritzed and smoothed/scrunched some seamollient. Little frizzy but it's tolerable. The dew point it up 10 points or so, 56 today. Still not super high but higher than yesterday. Of course they were in the 60s until I try a new combo.

Is anyone else using the living Proof stuff? I read through the reviews yesterday but it's expensive...

I found a 4oz bottle at Sephora for $14. I thought that was worth a try- better than 8oz.

Living Proof actually isn't any more expensive than Recoil, MPO-C Curl cream per oz, if I've done my math right.

Today the dew point is 59. I used the Babaii root lift and sculpting clay again with BRHG over (no mixing with other products this time). I was also able to let it dry although even though the dew points are lower with the cool damp weather my hair is taking forever to dry. I started to scrunch out and it was still a bit damp but even with that decent curls today. With minimal frizz.

That's great Jess!

ITA melanie no LI has been working better for me lately. Especially if I'm using CK I can't mix a lot of products with it or I get itchy. Less is more when using CK!! I'm keeping my hair well hydrated by co-washing more then Low Poo and that's helping too. Got 3 days out of my AMG combo Tried it again tonight air dried and diffused (too lazy to get my R2D2) I did use the honey spray but also noticed less frizz then last time. It may have been a condish problem not AMG. I doubt I'll even attempt to use it without Honey Spray, why mess with a good thing?

The only thing though is I think with Recoil and Mop-C you may need less then LP??? Not sure, that's on my "to try" list next wash. I've been waiting for the High dews to give it a whirl. No Gel on top hmixon?? How much did you use??? They also claim that you "can't use too much" but it's more expensive then CK so I'd rather NOT use more then needed.

I used the Aquage Defining Gel today for the second time. I might like it better than the Mega Gel. Left my hair with a less producty feel. Put it over my homemade FSG and hair held up all day.

Okay.....so after 3 years of going curly, I am now a straighty (is that even a word). I just found that more people (me included) liked me better with straight hair! That being said I found Living Proof, actually saw it online for a freebie and with several problems finally received it when I go south in the winter. I didn't use it then because it wasn't humid; but did I try it in the Dominican when someone (not me) booked a holidy in the Rainforest!!! (Need I say more....it was hot, humid and rainy every single day) Did my hair frizz....not once. Usually my friends say.....:Let's watch Notty's hair curl, but not this year.

I think the more I use it, along with a tourmaline flatiron, the straighter it stays. Since it's straight I don't have to wash until the 4th day.....now that is a good thing

I was just wondering where you'd been. And I can't imagine you could look better with straight hair your curly hair is SO amazing! But glad to hear it's working for you.

DEL: I don't use much LP- only about a dime to nickel's worth. But I use very little product as a rule- with KCCC I just dip my fingers in 3 times - maybe use a pea size total!

I've tried LP once with no gel and prefer it with gel. I'm actually having this same conversation with jillipoo over on "can you top this" so I'll paste what I wrote over there when she asked for my routine:

jillipoo- my routine is:
leave-in (KCKT or CJLI) then I put about a dime/nickel of LP on dripping hair and scrunch/squeeze it in. Then KCCC, then CJAF Gel. I have also used AOMMJ in addition before and liked it too- but I needs LOTS of moisture.

AOMMJ really refreshes this combo well for day 2.

I'm porous and med/coarse so I always use lots of moisture and also, I prefer a light gel.

I used LP alone as an experiment and it was okay, kinda meh, lacked the zip that I get from KCCC/CJAF.

The humidity is 100%, dewpoint is 63. I need ideas; the frizz is mad.

Oh I see...I was hoping that LP could be used as a styler with some kind of hold. It sounds more like CK, a de-frizzer without hold. I definitely would need more then you since there are no med strands on my head! I'll start with 2 QTR size blobs. I'll try it with some BRHG or AMG on top and report back I'll be comparing it to CK...

I had wondered if the tighter pattern of type 4 hair would be less prone to frizz in high dew points. I guess everyone gets it.

What are you using right now? Do you like hard hold type gels at all?

Well, today reached the 100s with dews in the high 60s/low 70s - and I had the best hair day in a long time! I'm loving the KCCC/pink boots combo. I even used my Aussie gel and had no droop!

I washed last night and woke up to frizz-free curls that clumped up to the roots (which is very rare in itself). My hair expanded as the day went on but stayed very defined. Hoping to get third day hair out of this one!

Can someone help me? Or give me some advice? Please and thank you.

Well, I always wash my hair in the afternoon/night. I air dry... no plopping or diffusing because they frizz me up. But lately it's taking even longer to dry. Is this due to the higher dew points? I used Lustrasilk as a leave in yesterday so maybe I need no leave in?

Have you thought about a hard hat dryer like the one in this thread? I have much less frizz when I use mine and it really cuts down on my drying time. Or you could try diffusing this way like Misfitcurls. What are your dews? Are you still using humectants that are holding the moisture in your hair?

Thanks for the links. I'll look into them. =D

I've been using the same products.
BRHG
HESMU Gel
HETT Mousse
KCCC
They have some humectants- I used them in the winter as well. But I thought you wanted them in the spring/summer.

Dew points around high 50s/low 60s

I don't like the hard holds. Today I used CJ Aloe Fix (after watching Empressri's video). I used it dry second day hair, then spritzed a little then diffused. I don't know why I bothered to diffuse because I spend the afternoon out in the rain and just threw it in a scrunchi. However, my hair didn't frizz! I'm going to use it next time the Way Empress does. I usually use much less. Unfortunately Curlmart is sold out.
