Managing hair during camping

I'll be going camping with my family later this week & I'm really looking forward to it, but I have some hair concerns. Obviously I'm going to only take a few things and make my routine as simple as possible, but I'm worried about scents attracting bugs and/or wildlife.

I'm planning on taking my bottle of Suave Apple condish for washing and leaving in, and one styling product. Would KCCC be a problem? It's all-natural and has agave nectar and other sweet-type ingredients in it - do you think it would attract bugs when it's on my hair? Or should I not worry about it? I also have BRHG and Curls Gel-les'c.

Or just forget all of it and throw my hair in a french braid or bandanna the whole time? That would be easiest but looks goofy in pictures.

How long are you going for?

You can wash and style right before you go as you usually would and pineapple a couple of nights so you can have decent down hair days. (Maybe bring a head band for those days, I find they help when my 2nd or 3rd day hair isn't up to snuff) And then maybe braid or pony tail your hair the rest of the trip, but bring your stuff just in case. I bet you could make it 5 days....

I would be concerned with the KCCC. My first time camping I brought a honey hyaluronic acid for my skin and I actually got mosquito bites on my face. UGH. This despite mixing the HA with oil and putting a moisturizing cream over it all.

I don't know how your camping ground will be but mine was primitive i.e., only an outhouse and I ended up just wearing bandanas and putting my hair in a ponytail. It was too annoying having to do my hair.

I like this idea.

Do your hair before you go, then just put it up when it starts looking crazy or gets annoying. Personally, I wouldn't worry about my pictures looking goofy as much as I would being annoyed by the hair in the way all the time, or worrying about how it looks.

I recently went camping and didn't use KCCC. I used CCCC and BRHG. The bugs didn't seem to bother.
