For those that started out CG but changed to modified...

I gave it a week. My hair looked like I poured a bottle of conditioner on it and let it dry. I then started low-pooing every day, which eventually turned out to be too much. So now, I still wash and style every day but I alternate between co-wash, co-poo, and low-poo and it's working well for me. You just have to find what works for you. I don't think there are two curly heads on this board that do everything the same and get the same results.

Yes what is co-poo? This is making me laugh.

I dye my hair with L'oreal to cover gray so I always lo poo after that. Otherwise, lo poo about once a week if I have given in and used something with a cone. In the winter I lo poo less often.
2/c and some 3A. Modified CG.
Protein sensitive
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
I knew going in that my scalp probably wouldn't allow me to be strict CG, and it was confirmed within just a few days.

Added to that is the fact we have disgusting water here in Adelaide and shampoo seems to be a necessity.
I now use cg friendly products, low-poo twice a week and water wash the other days. Seems to be working ok, though I am trying to get my SO to get a filter on the shower.
3b in South Australia.
My 3C/4A hair looked great after going strict no-poo, but after about a week my scalp itched like crazy. Apparently, this method just wasn't going to work on my sebhorrea.

What seems to work best for me is co-washing every other day, but about once a week I wash with Max Green Alchemy Scalp Rescue Shampoo. (It's an organic coconut-based shampoo.)

If the itching is really bad, I'll use a dandruff shampoo with zinc pyrithione (and yes, sulfates), but it's been a couple months since I had to do that. (And I always deep condition afterward.)

It all depends, though, on many factors besides the seborrhea acting up... the weather/humidity, time of the month, how stressed I might be... Who knows what my hair is gonna do tomorrow!
