KCCC

I was in WF yesterday and I noticed that KCCC is now $33. I just purchased some 3 weeks ago for $30. I think I'm going to have to find another product to use, because this stuff is getting too expensive. :sad1:

A lot of curlies say that it lasts so long that it is worth the price. But I agree with you. It only worked OK for me though so it wasn't worth it.

What are you using now? I'm thinking about trying Mop-C.

well, the first time i bought KCCC it was 26. this was in February. In March or maybe April, Ricky's was having an online sale where it was like, free shipping, 40% off and something else. the price was 26 but i ended up getting both for like, 36 dollars. i'm happy i did that because i remember reading a post saying the price was going up!!! and that they were coming out with smaller sizes as well. i'm really not feeling the price increase. i thought 26 was too much. granted, it does last a while - i JUST finished my first jar. but when my hair gel costs more than my internet... i dunno... i might still purchase anyways :sad1:

If you click the link in my sig it shows you what I am using. But I haven't necessarily found a replacement for KCCC. But AOMM is pretty good, that is Aubrey Organics Magic Mandarin.

KCCC isn't worth the money for me. The price just keeps going up. I've found other products that work better and are cheaper.

I agree! I'm going to finish my tub and start looking for something else.

WurlyLox 07-20-2009 09:57 AM

I have and sometimes use AOMM but it doesn't compare to KCCC for me. Fortunately I bought two jars for $26 a few months ago and have only used about 1/3 of one - $33 is ridiculous. They're going to price themselves right out of business. $26 was bad enough.

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything else that's quite like it. I like pink Boot's, but it works better usually in conjunction with KCCC. I don't remember if I've tried it with AOMM - need to give it a go and see if that might work. I know a lot love CJAFG, but it's nowhere near as good as KCCC for me.

Have you tried CJ CCCC+CJ AFG?? That's my HG combo and I find it works better than KCCC.

Does anyone know if Mop-C curl cream is as good as KCCC?

I used Mop-C a year ago and liked it, but it built up on my hair and I had to use a sulfate shampoo to get it out.

sweetseven 07-20-2009 10:54 AM

Mop C did work for me either. Honestly, I haven't found any other product that works like KCCC.

I can mention some other products that my hair likes: AOMM (but you already tried this), homemade flax seed gel (I wish I tried this sooner, easy to make and works great) and Afroveda Curly Custard (it's more like a butter, not like KCCC).

ellageorgina 07-20-2009 10:58 AM

Could try LOOB?

Res 07-20-2009 10:58 AM

I think BotticelliBabe's brulee is supposed to be similar to KCCC.

I agree -- they will price themselves out of business. I do love KCCC and have another jar but I am coming up north in Oct and thought I'd stop at WF and pick up another one. I'll have to decide on that one -- I do like Flax seed gel and AOMM combo almost as much. I hope someone from their organization looks on NC.com. That's where the word spread about the produce and that's where the word will spread about the price increase that people aren't happy about.

Does anyone have the KC email address? I think we should contact them. What do you CG think?

I think so! e-mail The address is on the website. I think it may have been done before though and the owner blamed in increase to $30 on the fact that the prices of the ingredients had increased... But from $33? Really?! :sad3:

The website still has it for the same price, but WF is $33

curl junkie aloe fix gel is cheaper. the price of kccc is what prevented me from buying it. i won't pay $30+ for a 16oz of anything.
