I am so excited for the video I feel like we need a trailer for it
I am a visual learner so hopefully the video will help me understand how to do this properly. When I tried just from reading the instructions I ended up with water up my nose and not so great hair.

In a world where curlies are lost...
[insert curly with BIG frizzed out hair, brushing it]
one brave woman...
[rudee talking into the camera, camera pans over multitudes of products, appliances]
and her fabulous hair...
[slow-motion shot of rudee flipping her hair]
go there
[shot of Rudee carefully cupping water, closing her eyes, and bravely splashing it, while dramatic music plays]
this is Super Soaker, a tale of mystery and intruigue, starring Rudee, a sink, and some amazing clumps.
[insert customer testamonials]
coming to a thread near you.

okay, sorry for once again not providing any actual imput, but I had to write a movie script once, and I made about fifteen trailers for it. I love trailers.

Ugh, I always have problems with getting the "Flat-Top" after washing my hair. I've been trying to scrunch my hair upside down while in the shower (I think that's that one method that was posted a while ago? I forget what it's called) which helps give me root curl, and helps a little with the "Flat-Top". Usually to get rid of it I just pineapple, which helps a lot plus it gives me a ton of volume! But I should try your method sometime.
I don't have a problem with getting my hair to clump what so ever though! My hair seems to clump pretty easily.

Wow, rudeechick, your hair looks awesome!!! The perfect dream hair I covet. It actually looks similar to calamity's curls if I remember right?
That being said, of course I had to try this method. Like you, I have thick long hair w/ bangs. My hair clumps easily on most of my head except for the nape of my neck (my longest layer). My hair there barely waves, and it looks so weird sticking out of all the other spirals and waves.
I have to say this worked really excellent for me, and gave me ringlets on my underneath layer! I adjusted your method slightly, so rather than than raking in leave in and curl cream I smoothed and scrunched in the leave in (CJ Hib. ban.) and curl cream (Jessicurl CC). Raking never has worked for me. Brushing seemed to actually break up some of my very large clumpy curls, which I liked as hair is in tighter spirals, but they are not skinny-they are just right!
One question-I was slightly confused about how to get the top layer to lay right. I like a lot of volume! When you say brush hair up and away from scalp, do you brush it straight up/vertically? Or do you just brush it back and away from your face. I would try it upside down, but my hair tangles very easily.
Thanks so much for the great ideas. Cannot wait to see the your "movie premiere"!hehe.

That 'trailer' was so awesome.
I could picture the whole sequence.
Rudee flipping her hair was very... Farrah fawcett in my version... Hehe.

Sorry, should have been clearer: I start at the scalp and brush horizontally - straight out to the side. That seems to do it for me.
Its funny that your nape wont clump on its own; thats my area that consistantly overclumps regardless of what I do.
Glad you had success with it.
I will assume you mean Farrah Fawcett circa Charlies Angels

Just made an attempt at shooting the video. Started out well, then we had technical difficulties (the camera got wet ) lol.
Need to rethink the angles, and maybe do a dry run (no pun) before the next shoot.
Hang on peoples....

OK, so as I posted a few posts back, we tried to video today and then I soaked the camera - can you say poor planning.
Anyway, my son has suggested a run thru before filming next time (duh). But next time wont be for a day or so. I love you all, but I cannot do my hair twice in one day!
