shampoo...how often?

hello! i'm a newbie and i'm going to try to go cg...actually modified cg coz i think i'm gonna need a low-poo sooner or later...

so my question is, how often do you guys shampoo? once a week? twice a week? one a month? once a year?

also, any recommendations on a low-poo product? according to the guidelines, i have 2b/c-ish curls, high porosity, medium-coarse texture (i'm asian), normal volume (3 inches). i'm guessing i'm also protein sensitive.

help? pretty please? thank you...

Oo well I'm part asian too and to be honest, I don't think you'll need to shampoo your hair very often.
I suggest you do a low-poo 2-3 times a week and if you feel clarified, cut down to once a week and see what happens.
I don't shampoo at all, but popular low-poos are:
Kinky Curly Come Clean
Curl Junkie shampoo
and Aubrey organics, so you can just browse those websites and have a look Hope that helps!

I shampoo whenever my hair feels like it needs it - it's hard to describe, though. It's sort of like it feels a little less clean than it would normally - not really oily just... gunky. It doesn't look very different, but it does feel slightly different. I can normally tell when I'm wetting it in the shower - hair that doesn't need cleaned for me feels quite good (like seaweed, as they say), whereas hair that needs cleaned feels really tangled, and sort of... coated. Ish. As I say - hard to explain. I end up using a lo-poo around once a week or so on average - depends on what I've been putting in my hair. I seem to be able to overcondition reasonably easy, so I also shampoo if that happens, just to try to reset the moisture balance.

I will also lo-poo if I've been sweating a lot or exposed to all sorts of environmental dirt/wind/etc. This past weekend I did a lot of hiking, so I ended up just lo-pooing every day.

As far as popular lo-poos go, I'm not sure what all is available in the states... but I currently use Burt's Bees Super Shiny shampoo (available all over the place), and have really good results with that.

I low-poo every other day because my hair is very fine and really gets weighed down by product and over conditioning. Sometimes I can leave it up to 3 days, but only if I haven't been using styling products in it. HTH

I shampoo usually once a week in the summer and every other week in the winter. It just depends on how my hair or scalp feel. I do shampoo if my scalp gets itchy or my hair feels dry yet looks greasy.
