Has anyone tried a helix haircut? Know anyone who has had one? Is it a gimmick or a rare find that many of us have not heard of....or at least i've never heard of.

Does anyone have any info???

I thought it was when you got 2 curls and cut one slightly more than the other to get volume?

I"ve been hearing posts that some people love them but others (who haven't had the cut) are saying it's bogus....someone, somewhere that we trust on here must have had one or knows someone!

I watched their video last night where they demonstrate the shears on a human hair mannequin.

They claimed there was no way to make those particular cuts without their special curved and twisted shears, and that it greatly increased the curl.

Sorry, but I just didn't see that happening. To me it looked like the hair on the mannequin was already wavy, curving in the exact same directions as their "amazing" finished result. To me all it looks like is a a convenient way to get a curved snip, sort of like how fingernail scissors are curved to make it easier to snip a rounded edge on your fingernails. But it didn't look at all to me like it increased the curl, it just looked like a curve in each snip.

On curly hair, I can't see that it would give the kind of results CG's are looking for.

And it said something along the lines of "being permanent". Last I checked you can't get a hair cut that all of a sudden makes your hair curly.
