I second what speckla said.

In this case, for me, mineral oil doesn't dry me out, it clings on and I can hardly get it out. My curl pattern is also so weak that it weighs it down. And curl pattern isn't related to texture porosity.

I didn't notice any ill effects, this is the only product that I have containing mineral oil and I don't plan to use it more then a couple times a month. I figured if RCC could use it without issues then I could to and our hair is similar in texture/porosity. I also Low Poo once a week or so through my length.
Are you finding that you are using more protein since it's summer? I'm up to weekly now with no problems. I wonder if my medium-coarse is leaning more towards medium?

But, shoot, come winter I won't be using it at all...

I don't believe I've ever tried any products with mineral oil in it, but I don't want to... mineral oil is nasty stuff! It's a by-product of petroleum... ew. Plus, I believe it coats your hair just like how silicones do? But I assume mineral oil is easier to get out of your hair than silicones, haha.

It's RCC fault I found a protein my hair likes (collagen - I almost gave up until reading about her success with finding one) and your fault I found an oil (coconut). For shame. I just wish my hair liked mineral oil because there's so many products I'd like to try.

Hey, I'm a pusher!

Del, I'm mixing up word definitions. By bi-weekly, do you mean every other week or twice a week? I always mix up bi-weekly and semi-weekly.

I'm pretty sure that you're more coarse and I'm more porous, so I should be able to handle more I suppose.

If you could stand it weekly, August would be the time, lol.

But, I do like to keep track of what you, Magoo, and Misspam do since I share product preference similarities with all of you.

I voted no. My hair is mostly fine (according to my new stylist) and very porous.

I use the generic k-pak and my hair seems to love it.

what products have collagen protein in them? I've tried soy proteins(hair hates that) keratin; hair loves it; silk proteins; hair seems to like it, I would like to give a collagen treatment a try.

I voted yes also. I have course low porosity hair and I occasionally try to use bio-mineral oil from the british curlies site... I swear my hair tries running away from it.... hence the random frizzy bits that instantly stand seperate from my head. lol

I like the light texture of it, so my brain refuses to give up trying to use it as a mid-day tamer, but Ill learn eventually. hehe

I voted no. I have fine/medium with high porosity (I think that's right) hair.

I don't do Protein Treatments since I use Henna/Cassia every 3 weeks. However, I use Elasta QP DPR-11 which has mineral oil as the 8th ingredient for a deep conditioner along with honey, and EO's and haven't had a problem. I do that every week or every 2 weeks.
