Time between washing and hair that comes out in the shower.
The longer between my washes the more hair comes out in the shower and sometimes more tangle. I would assume this is normal. I always have a lot of hair that comes out though, maybe like half a palm full - again this is normal for me so I am not really worried, just wondering.
Does anyone else have/notice this?

I've noticed that too. The longer between washes the more hair comes out in the shower but I think that's just because I'm not brushing my hair and when I finger comb it in the shower it's getting all the loose hairs that would have been brushed out during the old days.

I notice the same thing with myself. I assume it's because all the shed hair accumulated in my uncombed/brushed hair is finally coming out. Still freaks me out to see the ball of hair at the end of my shower, like it may be too much.

Happens here all the time. Since we loose about a100 hairs day, I guess they all come out at once. I agree that it's a little scary sometimes

Glad I am not the only one.
It is a bit scary. But I prefer not washing every day.

Yep, happens to me too. Kinda stinks cause it clogs the shower!

Same here. Isn't it lorraine massey that said this is normal because the hairs that we shed get stuck in our curls and can't fall to the ground? I agree that when I see all the loose hairs, it is a bit of a shocker.

Happens to me too! I notice I lose less when I wear it straight or wavy. I think I lose just as much then but when I wear it curly it doesn't fall out as easily throughout the day because I never brushed it or ran my fingers through it.

Yes, this happens to me.
But....I know that I'm still shedding hair during the day, too.
Since I stopped using sulfates I noticed that my shedding has decreased..... dramatically. I've read on the boards that some people have had the opposite happen

Add me to the list. A lot of my problem is tangles - it doesn't tangle in a sleep cap but I only wear that if I'm going for SDH. Otherwise I just pineapple and that makes the underside near my neck ultra-tangled. I'd say easily half a palmful if I go 2-3 days between washes.

I have a larger hairball when I go longer between washings but I'm not losing more hairs per day. There's just more hair tangled up or trapped in my curls.

Exact same thing for me! When I was using sulfates I was losing a ton of hair everyday. Way more than normal. Since I quit them my hair is growing much faster and I'm losing way way less hair!! It's amazing!

I get that too. It doesn't help that with curly hair, we have a lot more strands depending on each other for space. One knotty strand can bring a perfectly healthy clump out through combing. It gets worse the more out of control it gets. I've been finger combing my hair lately. I lose hair still (plus it feels weird!), but it helps :P

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one! I was trying console myself with the idea that it is normal to lose 100 strands a day but I recently read that 30 to 40 is more accurate I'm thinking my handful of hair is more than that. Sometimes I'm tempted to count them but I have the attention span of a lemur and I'd never finish!
I just started CG so it's nice to hear it may get better. Thanks for the info

Same for me; more hair loss when I wash after skipping a day.
