New haircut?

I'm new to this site, and I've never really had much advice about my hair before, so I thought I'd give this a try.

I'm really thinking I want to cut my hair before I go back to school--I really want my hair to be fun, easy to manage, etc.

I've had it short before, but I'm not sure if it's the best look? I think my hair is a 3a/3b. Any suggestions?

If you're thinking of going short again, would you consider a layered or inverted bob? I've been trying to grow out my hair for over a year now, finally got tired of it, and lopped off a bunch of it today into a short style that, if I do say so myself, is pretty darn cute. And easy to detangle and style! I had reservations about having short hair with a tight-ish curl pattern, but it worked & there are a lot of 3As here who have short hair.
