How can I get half of my hair to act like the other half? :\

CG has been working awesome for me. But I've been noticing that after I do my routine and apply my products, the whole left half of my hair looks really great and always frizz-free and generally just so much better than the right side. :\ The right side gets about twice as big as the left poofy wise, not sexy volume wise. And there's always frizz!

My hair on the bad side is also dryer feeling and not as shiny. I don't understand? It's not like I'm treating one side better or anything... and I'm sure it's not that I'm neglecting it when I put in my product. Ideas? Thanks!

Seeking a dt
Well... I decided to think up a solution for right now anyway. I used a deep treatment just now for the first time, and I really slathered it all over the bad side of my hair. It's still pretty wet but I can already tell that it looks a teensy bit better, even though I can also tell it will still dry relatively frizzy.

But this tiny improvement makes me curious. So how often can I do a dt every week?

my left side sucks- it is less wavy than my right.
I would say a DT once a week is fine. You'll know when it isn't good for you anymore.
I do a Protein and DT every week.
Just a thought, do you sleep on your right side? Maybe the right side of your hair is rubbing against the pillow and causing the frizz.

Type: 2b/3a, fine, thick, med. porosity
Hate: My frizzy, curl-less canopy
Love: My natural hair colour

Still fine-tuning my routine.
Cleansers: GTTT Shampoo, ACV rinse, Deva Low Poo
Co-wash: Down Under Naturals Conditioner, GTTT Conditioner
Styling: KCKT & KCCC
Want to Try: KCCC & BHRG Combo,
Looking For: Good protein treatment & DT
I had the same problem. It took about a year for both side to match. I grow out/ cut off my colored ends and changed to lighter products. Hope it helps

I'm not CG - tried it and failed for two years. My scalp hates it.
I agree that it could be related to which side you sleep on. Using a silk or satin pillowcase can help. So can lifting your hair up when you lay down, so that you're not laying on the canopy when you sleep. To ensure that the majority of your hair isn't directly under your head as you sleep, many people "pineapple" (put it up in a very high ponytail using a scrunchy). My hair isn't quite long enough for that, but I've found that putting it in two high pigtails accomplishes pretty much the same thing. Others cover their hair with a silk or satin scarf or bonnet at night.

It could also be related to whether you're right or left handed. I scrunch better with my right hand than with my left, which can actually be to the advantage of the hair on the left side of my head. So I have to think about it more when I scrunch on the right side.

Another problem could be that it can be difficult to get the same amount of product into all of your hair if you don't section first.

And, as others have said, it could be that your hair hasn't all recovered equally well from your pre-CG days. Deep treatments can help that along.
Peace,
Morgan

I'm this way as well. I can get all over waves during times of rain and much humidity but not most days. My hair in front refuses to wave except a couple waves right in front (my baby curls ha ha I always had curls from a baby in that spot!). I can't do anything about it even with every styling product I've tried, but some how I manage to get frizzy hair almost all the time (which is how I came to learn that my hair is not straight hair afterall!). I braid my hair in front and sleep in it when it still damp, a tip someone here gave me.
this happened to me earlier in the summer. one side of my hair waas curlier than the other and i looked lopsided .

what i ended up doing was using my better gel (kccc) on the curlier side, and my good but not nearly as spectacular gel (long aid activator gel) on the less curly side. that way, once they shrunk i had more hold on the side that would shrink more and less hold on the side that wouldnt.....its like balance
