My 2 1/2 year old daughter and I both have curly hair. I am half african american and filipino and my daughter is half kenyan. we both have curly hair and used to struggle with doing hair and I would have to put it up in braids or in a ponytail. One month ago my sister brought home something call mixed chicks leave in conditioner which she said she put in her hair and loved it as it made her hair curly and easy to comb and leave down natural. we tried it of course and loved it. now we have been using it every morning and it takes only 20 minutes to do my hair and my daughter's hair. she still cries when I am doing it as she does not like anyone doing her hair, but it looks great and we have recieved several positive comments.

Lots of curlies recommend it. Just a thought.

Thanks for all the positive replies!!!, I think her hair is just a really difficult type (2c/3a) and texture (baby fine/frizzy) so I will ALWAYS have problems with tangles frizz and lack of curl definition!!

I may try mixed chicks- has anyone else had luck with this brand? would you reccommend the leave in or any other products??

I'm not sure about protein, I'll look into it and perhaps try the AO conditioner

Thanks for being so helpful

I over condition easily and get frustrated with it a lot. I was using protein and it helped quite a bit. I stopped because I was being lazy and did one after a month or so and it reacted like folks who are protein sensitive.
Can't hurt for you to try some protein.
