I just looked at your albums; I think, with the exception of the fact that my hair is impossibly thick, we are hair twins!

That is all

Shoot, I think her hair is bigger than yours! In a good way. I like big hair.

LOL! I totally thought the same thing after I checked out your pics a long time ago! Same curl, same volume. I bet you would have a hard time fitting through a doorway if you were to dry-brush as well.

And the funny thing is, I tried out your HG's this morning with the Super Soaker routine (I finally got my Denman!) and it was a TOTAL bust. I got some clumps, but they were clumps of waves, which my hair NEVER does. Hair is currently in a ponytail right now. So yours goes ringlet when you soak, and mine goes wavy. Weird, huh? Maybe we're fraternal hair twins!

I've had the best luck so far with BB's FSG and CJ CCCC - I'm still playing around with some others. At least that combo gives me clumpy curls with weight, which is a nice alternative to the 80s full-curl poof (which is appropriate on some days with some outfits, I admit).

Yea, I always find it odd that hair that LOOKS the same reacts to such different protocol! Especially product-wise.

Would you be willing to experiment with the SuperSoaker Method? I cant imagine you wouldnt get amazing hair with the right balance/combo of product!

Oh, I haven't given up on the SS method yet, that's for sure. I had mild success with some other products combos, but after reading a lot of posts on that thread, I was thinking that the CJSG might be the key - it's one of the few products that's "water activated" and might actually respond better to the soaking than some lighter weight ones that might be rinsed off. But it just didn't get the curl I needed. The gel might be too light for me as well - I tried the Aquage Curl Defining. I might go with BRHG, the Mega, or maybe the LALSG. I still think that the CJSG is a key component tho - it'll be a long time before I stop experimenting.

Have you had any good results with air drying? That's another problem I have - I can't diffuse for the time it takes my hair to dry. Not with 2 kids running around, at least. I managed to get in a whopping 5 mins of diffusing last week, that's a record for me. So whatever technique I try or modify, I have to air dry at the end.

Air dring takes WAY too long and makes my hair dry too BIG

Do your coils still hold tho? Or do they fall out as they get fat?

WM - how do you keep the front of your hair back like that? Do you use a comb or barette or something? I need to learn how to do that!

It's a giant elastic head band. Picked it up at Target or someplace cheap. It looks like the single-piece ponytail elastics but is like 10x bigger. I just put it on when I'm bent over and when I stand upright, the curls on top just naturally fall over to the sides like that. I hate having hair in my face and my hair is too heavy to hold a style on it's own for very long. That headband is a godsend.

You mean with air drying? Air drying absolutely locks my curls in place; they dry very shiny, very bouncy and very defined. But when I run my hands thru them (yes, I do. Always) they get HUGE! Like when and old fashioned beauty parlor roller set is brushed out It is NOT everyday hair.

Well, there you go. Keep your hands out of your hair. That is definitely my biggest issue of all....I'm sitting here right now with KCCC/BRHG crunch and it's like 80% dry. I am SO not doing a good job of not touching it. It's like peeling a sunburn when you were a kid, you know? It's just too much temptation.

Lol.. I have good discipline - I never touch it when wet. But once its dry all bets are off. I constantly run my fingers thru it or twirl it and stuff. With the right products the definition holds up. Of course, summer is another story
