My lovely friend Lisa, who is the manager of the Whole Body department at Whole Foods gave me a generous sample of KCCC because she just knew it would be perfect for my hair. She was so right and now I can't live without it. It's not just HG but Ultimate holy grail! But I can't plop with it. Well, my modified plop, the burrito. It doesn't work unless I gently scrunch the curls with my microfiber towel and then air dry. Has this happened to anyone else?
KCCC gives me a drying time from hell. I can plop all night with it in, and still be wet in the morning. Then again my hair can do the same thing with FSG im slowly finding out. Also I realized, that I cant use my curlease to plop, or a shirt, the only real thing that works for me is a flour sack towel. Also with KCCC after I put it in I cant touch it, or I start seperating curls, and causing frizz. HTH
I also always go back to my KCCC , and I plop with it every time! It does take a long time to dry, but I find that if I squeeze out all the excess water before distributing it with my Denman, scrunch in some curls then plop, it gives me better hold and a shorter drying time than when I apply on very wet hair (as I do with everything else).
I do my thing with CK, FSG mixed with biotera gel, plop and diffuse a little and then add just a teeny bit of KCCC rubbed through my hands and on the ends and throughout and it's perfect! If I add too much, gets too producty and won't ever dry either!!!
My hair is all one length, just got to the bottom of my neck but I'm growing to the shoulders. If I plop with KCCC, the curls get all mangled by the towel. Have you ever seen triangular shaped curls? It's like Medusa in geometry class. ACK!
After no-sulfate wash (Jason Thin to Thick or Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle) I flip over and gently rake in a bit of no-cone leave in (Cocoa Pink's Silky Free) mixed with my beloved Boots pink cream. I use my microfiber towel to squeeze out excess water then start to gently scrunch in the KCCC, root to tip.
(At this point I'd plop and then found I kept getting a big old crunchy, angular mess no matter which plopping method I tried so I had to find another method, see below... )
I flip back up and shake a bit and keep scrunching in the KCCC until well coated. I then use my towel to keep gently scrunching out the water and in the curls. Then I put a clip in the crown and let air dry. It dries pretty fast then I SOTC with a bit of Fat-Tastic mousse and it's done. I will diffuse if I'm in a hurry.
My curls come out gorgeous and spiraled this way but I just wondered what it is about the KCCC that didn't work with my hair and plopping.
Thanks for all the replies, I love seeing how other people deal with their curls. I have to take a pic and update my avatar because my hair is much longer now.
I can, but my hair is quite a bit longer than yours. When my hair was that short, I couldn't plop at all.
