I think maybe you mean a Denman brush? It looks like this http://www.haircaregrowthaids.com/wp...an-brush-1.jpg
and some people use it for distributing product (gels, creams, etc.) through their hair.
Hope this is what you meant! :)

Yep Denman is a brush

Ooooh gotcha. Now have people who usually try to promote clumps used this? Because I never use a comb or a brush. I scrunch product into soaked hair w/ my microfiber towel & that's it. If anyone who NORMALLY does this but thinks the Denman brush is awesome let me know.

Do you know what the brush promotes in your curls?? Sorry for all the ???'s - just gettin' back into this curly stuff ha ha.

IMO and IMH (in my hair;), the Denman kinda creates a "blank canvas" by brushing my hair into one sheet of hair, that then can effectively can be coaxed into chunky clumps, as opposed to the ringlets my hair will form on its own.

This helps me because A. I like a clumpy looser texture and B. It helps control my volume.

HTH

So it doesn't break up the curls like a comb or normal brush would do. I've been thinking about getting one since soooo many curlies seem to love it, but I wasn't sure how it differs from a wide tooth comb. TIA for the clarification.

To further clarify, the closets thing to the Denamn, IMO, is a very fine toothed comb.
