Where I'm at...

Hello fellow curlies and anyone who remembers me!! I have neglected the forum, and my hair, for aaages. I don't know about anyone else, but I started to find taking care of my curls very very time consuming and, while it was high maintenance, didn't really look it at the end. I work in primary school, so I tie my curls up all the time anyway and haven't been seeing the benefits.

So now my hair is a total mess. It is dry dry dry, real frizzy and fluffy, and tangley like it never has been!! To make matters worse, Morrisons have discontinued my cleansing conditioner, and I can't find another like it anywhere!!! It had peach in it, the best thing I've ever used for my curls.

SOOO I'm back, tail between my legs, cap in hand like the prodigal curly girl, hoping for some advice and curly love lol!

I am on the verge of spending 50 on Jessicurl products. Has anyone any thoughts on her stuff?

Thanks guys

Liz xx

But then again, too few to mention...
Of course I remember you and your gorgeous hair! For me personally the Jessicurl styling products don't work. My hair would look fabulous and then by the 3rd time using it, it would be dry, tangly and stringy. My hair doesn't like a lot of oil so I think that's my main problem with her stylers, plus they don't have enough hold for me. I know a lot of people have trouble with the magnesium sulfate drying them out. I absolutely love her Weekly Deep Treatment, though.

Welcome back!

Hey msg nice to see you! Ahhh so Jesscurls stuff have oils, well that's pretty much a no-no for me then. I have been reading all my old posts, and apart from remembering what fun I had on here, I have remembered some routines I had played about with that were working for me, so I am going to have another go. Good to be back

Hi there Zeldagoblin and a huge welcome back!!

I know exactly what you mean about it being time consuming, i too have only just been back on the forum since a few months off, for me it was everytime we went to the shops and i would spend too long looking at the back of shampoo/conditioner/styling products to check out the ingredients.

it was bad enough looking out for cones and sulphates but then somewhere on here people were talking about parabens this and parabens that and minerals and the such and it just totally turned me off the whole curly girl thing.

im out the house by 6.45 in the mornings and i found that if i want nice curls i would have to get up at 5.30 and i was just so tired!!

I used to just brush my hair out, put it in a bobble and be done with it.

my hair has been so dry recently(chlorine and spanish sea).

i just bought some whipped shea butter from an online shop called Pretty Curls, look them up, they sell some lovely things, my product cost 6.00 including postage..fairly fast postage too!

This seems to have done the trick to sorting out my hair, it certainly isnt as dry.

YOu might be able to find one of my posts on here about my experience with it...just got the formula right!!
Anyway, i have ramble on.......

Welcome back! My hair didn't care for the Jessicurl products either. Left it limp and lifeless after a week.

Hi, and welcome back!!

Do you have the Elucence line? I believe their moisture balance line has peach.
Kiva! Microfinance works.

Med/Coarse, porous curly.
Heey everyone, thanks for the welcome!

RCC - I just had a look at Elucence and could only find one with Olive oil and coconut in, which is really bad for me.

Kathy - thanks for the feedback, it is so expensive so I don't want to risk it if it isn't all that. Shame they don't do trial sizes!

Aero - Gonna have a poke around the pretty curls site and see if there is anything peachy there. The worst thing is, the peach conditioner from morrisons only cost 98p, it was my favourite cleanser ever. Ah well, the quest continues.

WELCOME BACK!!! I just came back to after a reeeeally long time. I've been straightening for almost 2 yrs. & as my hair grew past the shoulders I was OVER it. So I cut layers into it & am back to square 1 w/ cg.

Honestly when my was at it's best I used ALL Jessicurl but I'm having some probs w/ it leaving my hair noodley, not clumpy like i like it. Missgiblet says it could be just b/c my hair is not as healthy right now????

Good luck!!!!

OOooooooo Tescos eh. I'll try that tomorrow. Weird hair today. Very flooofy went real soft and curls dropped out. I think a gel change is definitely in order. The UG seems to build up, I get build up so much, im so sensitive. My instinct atm is to go bald
