Default Clipping while plopping

Has anyone ever tried to clip their roots while plopping? I am sitting here trying it for the first time.

Let me know if you tried and your results.

TIA!!

How did it go, pjsmommy?

I have just got a curl-ease towel and was thinking of doing just that. I haven't tried plopping before but I always have to clip my hair (usually do it when it's about 50-75 percent dry and then remove when fully dry). Absolutely need this, as a parting does not suit me.

My first attempt was so-so. I clipped using my favorite method from chicpower. Although this works fabulous all by itself, I don't think this is the best method with plopping. Today, I am going to try the clipping method from the CG book.

I'll report back later.

Ok...so I clipped the roots like in the CG book and plopped. It's definately better than the first clip/plop I did. Just not sure if I like the way it looks as much as when I use chicpower's clipping method after plopping.

I will be trying plopping today - only for 15-20 mins just in case it doesn't work out! lol - then I think I will diffuse and clip. I found chicpower's vids - I don't have the clips she uses (will have to source these - hopefully the UK Sally's has them?) but will use the small croc clips that I usually use until then. What I would LOVE to try is the Roller Jaw Clips:
http://www.break.com/usercontent/200...ns-643499.html

But I cannot seem to find a UK site that sells them!

I think these would work really well for me tho'

These look great! i may have to look for them.

I don't use the exact clips that chicpower uses. I think any small clips would do.

I find plopping the 15-20 minutes is good.

Let me know!

Let me know!
Plopped using the jessicurl plunking method - left on for 25 mins (was posting on the forums and forgot! lol) and YEY it worked a treat! Very curly and soft (used MUCH less KCCC than I normally do and no hard hold gel over the top). Pixie curl diffused, clipped now air drying! I'm am hugely hopeful this could be part of my regular routine from now on.

Managed to find the 'chicpower clips' on UK ebay and have ordered them as I think they may be less harsh than my current clipping method - hair tends to get caught up in the 'teeth' of the small jaw clips that I use.

I like the sounds of this. I'll check out the jessicurl plunking to see how it differs. Did you clip then plop? Did you pixie diffuse with the clips in?

Glad you found some clips!

No, didn't clip before plopping (I don't usually clip until after diffusing anyway, when hair is about 70 per cent dry). I did make sure I did the plop tight - just like in the video and lowered my hair concertina style onto the curl-ease - making sure the very top of my head hit the towel.

Left on for 25 mins. With head upside down, removed the towel and went straight into pixie-curl diffusing. (Hair was much drier after plopping - normally soaking wet so didn't need to diffuse for long - 15 minutes tops). Then clipped the top and front area as per normal.

Didn't go anywhere last night so left the clips in until bed but didn't shake out as there was only a teeny tiny bit of crunch in there (I made a conscious effort to use way less of the KCCC than normal I have been slapping it on! LOL - also didn't mix any hard hold gel this time). Gave hair a bit of a shake this morning and it is very curly and soft. Think I will use a tiny bit of hard hold gel next time tho'.

Sorry - that is WAY more info than you asked for -lol

Yey! Marvellous! I am so glad it worked for you too!

I have learned so much from this site it's an incredible place for sure! Revolutionary I'd say!

I've still got some tweaking to do on the KCCC/gel combo - this is proving to be a tad tricky - lol
