Default Is Aloe Vera Gel a good styling gel?

I'm trying to boycott some l'oréal products like some others on this site because of their racial descrimination, (you can read about it on Hall of Shame) and I'm looking for another hair gel other than my garnier 24-h gel. Is aloe vera gel a good styler for curly hair? Has anyone used it on their hair and had good results, oh and does it dry crunchy or soft? I got the idea from Rashida (ShidaNatural on youtube, thanks Rashida!!)
Thank you so much xox

I use CVS Aloe Vera Gel (a lot of people use Fruit of the Earth but I can't seem to find it anywhere and it has practically the same ingredients) mostly for moisture but I would never use it alone to style my hair, it simply has no hold to me. Although, my hair's really thick so it could work for you. But if all else fails you can use it for your skin, you really can't lose with aloe

Thanks, my hair is really thick too so I don't know. I'll still pick some up though. I'm sort of going for moisture vs. hold so it might work 4 me. Thank you

I'm confused... you say you're trying to boycott L'oreal, but isn't Garnier a part of L'oreal?
Can you post the link to this thread please?
I'm interested

Yes Garnier is a part of loreal but I'm just finishing of the gel, it's nearly gone anyway.

Here's the link :]
L’Oréal guilty of racial discrimination

I've found that AVG doesn't have nearly enough hold for me (I'm 2C/3A). It is nice for moisture though.

How about using Biosilk rock hard gelee? I use Bioterra gel and like it, although sometimes I wish it had just a bit more hold. Or perhaps you could try making your own flax seed gel? I know some curlies on here also have good luck with Herbal essences gels (are they part of L'Oreal?)

I'm the opposite. FOTE Aloe Vera Gel is the only gel I use in my 2c/3a hair. I like the fact that it is very light and doesn't goo up my hair.

YAY I just bought that and I came on here to see if I could use that instead of FOTE because I couldn't find it either
