I just moved to Melbourne, FL. last month and would love to come (if anyone is welcome), but what city? I've been experimenting with products since moving to this humid climate and would love to meet other curlies here

Ahhh Tampa...well I don't know if I could make it that far I have young children one of which needs mama's milk. If it's realistic I will totally be there.

I would love to do Pia's again, especially since it is my favorite restaurant, but that's Art Walk night. No reservations and no separate checks during Art Walk unfortunately, which makes it a challenge to plan a gathering there during those nights.

Anyone going to Gulfport anytime soon, though, check it out...it is a truly fabulous place:

I'd like to come if I can. My first wedding anniversary is on the 14th. If we don't go away for the week I'll defiantly hop on board.

Loewin, it would be great to meet you!

Shelby, oooh I hope you can make it. I'm sure it would be a memorable celebration -- all of us crazy curlies! lol.

Hello Laurenbrooke! I'm one city south of you! LOL. Look, I'm waving!!! If you need anything, or wanna know where anything is, just PM me. Tinah lives pretty close too. I drive all over, so I've got a ton of stuff pegged out.

Thank you Goobernut!! I'm really loving living here it is unlike anywhere I've ever lived before (and I've lived in a lot of places). I actually am curious if you have a stylist you would recommend? I probably won't get a haircut for awhile, but it would save me the trouble if you know of one already that does a good job with curly hair.
Thanks again, and I will definitely add you as a buddy on here.

Tampa area folks? Suggestions?
Just on this side of the bridge there are lots of restaurants in the Westshore/Int'l Plaza area. There's a P.F. Chang's at Westshore, a Cheesecake Factory and others at Int'l Plaza.

Not sure I'll be able to make it. The meet-ups always seem to conflict with my annual conference trips out of town.

I'm a Florida girly, but I am truly a Florida girly and that is the Gator's homecoming game--maybe next time! I do have a question for Strutt'swife though. I am desperate for a great haircut, I live in GVille, do you know anyone up here? If not, where is your new salon located?

Hi! I'm in Tampa but not likely to make it out-to-dinner. But ooh best of luck on your haircuts and I'll be watching this thread just in case my schedule suddenly opens up.

mrosev14 - I am not acquainted with anyone in Gainesville, unfortunately. I am personally located in St. Petersburg.

mpgirl and I were talking about possible places last weekend...anyone have an objection to Tex-Mex? We are thinking potentially Carmelita's at this point.

I too would love to find a good stylist in the Melbourne area. I just can't justify driving to St. Pete.

There are some curly salons located in the Orlando area. They are in the stylist directory on this website. That's only about an 1:15 min drive from Melbourne. I was looking at going to one of those before I decided to make a road trip of going to Tiffany.

Oooh, and I'll vote for Tex-Mex, haven't had decent Tex-Mex since I went to OKC for a visit home

There were two salons that I saw reviewed in Orlando, but I wasn't honestly blown away by the reviews. I think I'm just going to give it up and head to Tiffany's.

This post is just in time!! I seriously need a cut/color from Tiffany, I'm wayyy over due. I was thinking that I wanted to get my cut around the 18th of Oct, this may sound silly and it probably is an old wives' tale, but I always aim for getting my hair cut on the New Moon.... or a couple days around that time anyway. The New Moon is actually on the 18th. Does anyone else do this or have heard of this? I'll have to check my pay schedule (unfortunately- these tough times are killing me. ugh!)
Hopefully I can make it to the partayyy!!

Tiffany, you should be expecting a call from me very very soon to make an appt!!! Wooo hooo!!

Tex Mex works for me!

Gidget - there's a salon listed in Cocoa Village but I don't think it has any reviews yet. I go to a girl at the Mall in Merritt Island. She's not a curly stylist but she gives me a fantastic cut every single time. Let me know if you're interested and I'll find her card and give you the info.

So the date is set for October 17th. We've yet to determine a meeting place yet. But for sure Tiffany Goobernut and I will be there. We need to nail down a location. We'll be doing an evening meeting so a nice (but perferably inexpensive) place for dinner would be great! So who all is in?
I'll be there with curls on!!! Hahahaha! Okay it wasn't that funny I know.
