Default What are some must-haves?

Name a few MUST-HAVES for curly girls! I need help choosing products and I need some recommendations! The ones that you post have to be "Really good!" not just "Oh, pretty good, not my favorite, though"

Seriously. They need to be must-haves. Thanx!

I bit the bullet and bought Kinky Curly Curling Custard. That stuff is as good as they say. It was worth the painful expense, especially since it will probably last me a thousand years.

I completely agree with this. Right now this is HG status for me.

I'm still new to the game, though, so hopefully more experiences curlies will weigh in for you. =)

Must have VO5 Vanilla Mint for Co-washing. Must have a chop stick for separating curls post-plop, and 2nd day. Must have flour sack towels for plopping. The other products I am flexible and open to trying new things.

Now these are more must-try, since everyones hair reacts sooo differently. But I would say Curl Junkie Coffee Cocoa Curl Creme, or really any of the CJ products. And, flax seed gel, either homemade or BB's.

Okay, here goes (in order of 'must haved-ness'):

1. Herbal Essences Set Me Up Gel (Even my completely oblivious husband noticed a difference in my hair with it!)
2. ACV
3. Honey
4. LA Looks Sport Gel.

I only have one must-have, and that's whole foods 365 unscented conditioner. It is the most fantastic leave-in conditioner I have ever used, keeping my hair moisturised and soft, but not too heavy for my mostly wavy hair. And it is unscented, a must since I am allergic to almost all fragrances. I even use it as a no-poo!

Homemade Flax Seed Gel!!!!!

I made a batch the other day and I seriously cannot stop telling people about it...I'm sure I'm very annoying!

There's a thread under RECIPES titled "No-Fail Flax Seed Gel"...easy easy recipe!

Here are a couple of pics of my hair today...my curls are super soft and super shiny and super bouncy.

I am in the process of updating my fotki so check there to see bigger pics. I have no idea how to make the picture here bigger...they always just show up as thumbnails (password is curly).

Though I use a lot of other good products that I'd hate to give up, I could get by with 'just':

A good diffuser
Duckbill clips
Old t-shirts or floursack towels
FOTE AVG
KCCC
BRHG or LALSG
GTTTT shampoo and conditioner
AO GPB conditioner

I agree with mmassage, since everyone's hair has it's own needs and sensitivities.

My bare-minimum curly survival kit:
Suave Naturals Coconut Conditioner - for cowashing and daily conditioning
Wide-toothed Comb
ACV rinses once a week
Giovanni Direct Leave-In - my fine hair loves the protein in this & doesn't get weighed down
Microfiber towel - for blotting out excess water and plopping
Duckbill clips - for root lift
Seamollient - offers good hold, softness, shine, and clumps and dries quickly. AND it's natural and cheap! And can be mixed with just about any other styling product to boost shine and root curl volume. It's my universal styler.

Must have VO5 kiwi lime conditioner
Must have Suave coconut conditioner
MUST have LA Looks Sport gel (seriously, if they ever stop making this I might have a breakdown)
Must have Ojon restorative, even if I'm only allowed to smell the jar. I adore the smell of it.

Guanoing: I just ordered a sample of seamollient w/some other stuff from Kathymack. Where do you get it? Do you mix in your hand with other products as you use them or add to the bottle? How much at a time?

Thank you (blush blush). I will go for 2nd day hair tomorrow and show you the difference. It gets curlier (or at least it seems like the curls get tighter) and the FSG takes away the frizz and adds a ton of shine!
