Hmmm, I haven't heard of anything about Vit D related to hair specifically. But I have been hearing a lot about Vit D in general and how most people need it. And "the powers that be" are thinking of upping the daily recommended amount because the current one is likely far too low.
FWIW, I did some research on it and I'm taking a Vit D supplement now in addition to my multi and my calcium (which has vit d in it) and Vit D-3 is supposed to be the best Vit D formula.
For hair and nails specifically, my dermatologist recommended that I take Biotin.

(according to CurlGenie - HUGE surprise, I always thought I had fine hair and my stylists always agreed)
Tried CG for a summer, but it wasn't for me. I don't load up on sulfates and silicones, but I have no shame in using them when I want/need to! Currently loving LOOB.
