Could I replace my usual hair gel with Aloe Vera Gel?

I usually use Herbal Essences Curl Scrunching Gel, but I was wondering if I could use Aloe Vera Gel to replace that. I put my gel in right after the leave-in conditioner. What is the difference between AVG and other hair gels, and which one should I continue using?
Shampoo: Loreal Eversleek Intense Smoothing Shampoo twice weekly
Conditioner: Live Clean Argan Oil Restorative Con./Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture/Aussie Sydney Smooth
Deep Treatment: Joico K-Pak once a week
Leave-In: Curly Q Custard mixed w/ AG Recoil
Gel: HE Tousle Me Softly Spray Gel
It depends on how much hold you need. I know some people are able to use it without a problem, but it doesn't have enough hold for me. Try and see!

I love using aloe gel on my hair. I don't use it when I want perfect, uniform curls that last a long time; more so when I'm looking for natural curl that is soft and touchable (and shiny ). Plus, washing it post-aloe feels sooo nice.

I like to mix 2 parts cheap-thin-yummy-smelling-'cone-free conditioner with 1 part 100% Aloe Gel (I like Fruit of the Earth... the no fragrance/color added kind). I can use as much as I want without feeling guilty or like I'm creating build up.

Also, aloe is really good during low humidity. It's a true moisturizer. I like it for dry, pick-me-up scrunching, too.
I am a 3a/b with normal-coarse hair that is medium-thick and fairly porous.

Currently using:
~VitaminShampoo (CG )
~L'oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss for medium to long hair that's curly/wavy
......wow that is a mouthful.
~Garnier Fructis curl-shaping spray gel
*or*
~Pantene curl defining mousse
