using aloe gel on my hair. I don't use it when I want perfect, uniform curls that last a long time; more so when I'm looking for natural curl that is soft and touchable (and shiny
). Plus, washing it post-aloe feels sooo nice.
I like to mix 2 parts cheap-thin-yummy-smelling-'cone-free conditioner with 1 part 100% Aloe Gel (I like Fruit of the Earth... the no fragrance/color added kind). I can use as much as I want without feeling guilty or like I'm creating build up.
Also, aloe is really good during low humidity. It's a true moisturizer. I like it for dry, pick-me-up scrunching, too.
I am a 3a/b with normal-coarse hair that is medium-thick and fairly porous.
