So I am still in the beginning stages of going CG, and I am super-happy so far. I can't believe how curly my formerly wavy hair really is.

Anyway, I am the matron of honor in my BFs wedding in early October. I plan on wearing my hair curly and up for the wedding.

My friend just booked us appointments to have our hair blownout for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (the night before the wedding). I am a little worried, however, that the blowout might screw up my hair for the wedding- I am sure there will be both cones and sulfates involved.

Anyone have problems with their hair properly going back to curly after blowing it out straight?

After getting a blowout/doing it straight, my hair takes about a week to really recover, but that's just me.

Last year around this time I was in a similar situation- maid of honor at my BF's wedding. While they did set up sessions for us to get our hair done, I wasn't shy about telling the stylist not to blowout b/c I was full on CG at the time (she had been instructed by the bride's mom to do so). I know it was her wedding, but I thought it was a little silly they were deciding what my hair would be like when in fact I know what is best since I have to deal with it everyday . If it's just for the rehearsal, you may want to ask if it's really that big of a deal to have it blownout? I'd imagine she'd respect your wishes, especially if it meant you'd have better hair on the big day.

My hair won't return to normal in just one day after a silicone-threatment.

Give her a choise: to look fabulous on the rehersel or to look fabulous on her wedding.
If she really persists you have to go with her (bonding and all that womany-friendy-stuff ), bring your own hairproducts and tell the hairdresser to use that and nothing else.

That's what I was worried about. I wasn't too thrilled about paying for a blowout for barely one day anyway.

My friend is pretty low-maintenance, so I'll just have her cancel my appointment.

My hair bounces back from a straight look after about 1-2 washes, but I know it takes more than that for many people.

- 3b/3c/probably some 4a up in there too.
- natural since birth
- almost hip length when flat ironed, BSL when curly.
- a great lover of water. lol

I am a product junkie and I'm not going to rehab!

I thought it would, but no. Washing and scrunching put back the curl for me. But the stylist did not use much of any product at all when blow drying. And my hair is coarse not fine.

If it still looks good the day after, you could just wear it straight (gasp!). Or could get diffused or roller set or just a pedicure or something while everyone else does blowout?
