My Overnight Pineapple Plop method
Ok so I've found that in the 3 times I've done it, my hair looks soo much better after plopping over night. My curls are a little tighter, last longer throughout the day, and I tend to have more volume (which I need). The only reason I've only done it 3x's is because it's so uncomfortable to sleep with those rolls on the sides of my head! I always plop in the morning after my shower but being that I'm not a morning person & tend to hit the snooze button way too many times, 20 mins of plopping doesn't give me the same results. Plus I get to work with half wet hair (I just airdry-no diffusing).
So tonight I decided to try something new. I'm not sure if anyone else has tried or regularly uses this technique, but I thought I'd share. I call it Pineapple plopping because I basically just pineapple a shirt on my head, without getting any hair in the "ponytail".
After doing my basic routine in & out of the shower, I put my head thru the neck of the shirt (as if I were going to wear it) but don't put my arms in. Then, I flip my head upside down & tighten the neck of the shirt around my head by securing it with a ponytail holder in the back (like making a tiny t-shirt pony at the nape of my neck). I then put my hand inside the large opening of the shirt (closest to the floor) to feel where the longest hair is to be sure it doesn't get tied up. I gather the shirt just below that point, stand up straight (so all hair falls on top of my head) and carefully make my pineapple ponytail just above the "nest" of hair.
This way, I can sleep on the back or sides of my head without waking up with a headache or a sore neck and great hair...hopefully! This is my 1st time trying it so I will let you guys know how it worked tomorrow.
