Shampoo Bar

How do you use it?

Take the whole bar and rub it over your scalp.

Lather it up in your hands first and use the "suds".

Some people put the bar directly on their hair--I don't. I lather in my hands, wash hair and scalp, rinse. Use rinse out conditioner (these days it's Terax Crema on soap bar days) and rinse. Do ACV rinse (I keep a sprayer with Bragg's ACV mixed 1:10 in the shower) and rinse. Style as usual.

I lather the soap bar on one of those poof scrungy things and it works up a lot of lather -- then lather it on my head and work it through. I also use that poof for my body -- works better than a wash rag or my hand for suds!!!!Like KM - use the ACV and then a little leave in conditioner.....
But do you have to use acv to afterwards?

The reason to use the ACV, or other acid rinse, is to restore the pH balance of your hair. Hair is acid, soap is alkaline.

So a "shampoo bar" is actually soap, not a form of solid shampoo?

The soaps are supposed to be "superfatted." I think it all depends on what you buy. They all "look" like soap. The "good" ones are cold processed, hand crafted soaps. They use lye in the process which makes them alkaline.

Look for the word saponified in front of the oils. Because the lye is "used up" in the process, they seldom list the sodium hydroxide.
