Low Poo "sticky" question
I've used Burt's Bees Grapefruit and Sugar Beet Shampoo and Aubrey Organics Blue Camomile Shampoo, and I've had the same reaction to both. As I am shampooing, my hair becomes a sticky mess. Lots of my hair comes out and I can't even get my fingers through it.
I noticed that both shampoos contain coconut, corn, soy protein, and citrus seed extract. (The Burt's Bees also contains glycerin, honey, sucrose, and glucose).
I am trying to figure out what is bothering my hair. Has anyone had a similar experience with either of these products? I really don't know what these ingredients do to one's hair. I appreciate the help. Thanks.

this is the lo'poo I have at the moment and I can't use it straight or else I get a hairball that would choke an elephant. It's like all my BSL hair tangles and knots in on itself because this 'poo has absolutely no slip to it. wherever the hairs touch each other, they seem to freeze in place in the said hairball and don't budge. It's also really hard to rinse out for some reason, I can't get the water to penetrate to the middle of the hair ball.
I have to finish the bottle before I buy something else so I've been mixing Moisture Maniac conditioner with it and I can do a combo lo'poo/co-wash with that mix.
I'm on the look-out for a lo'poo that has incredible slip that rinses clean. If you hear of anything, please update your thread here....

Frizzly,
I get exactly the same problem as you. It is gross!! The Aubrey Organics Blue Camomile shampoo does the same exact thing.
hrgirl314 - I just tried the DevaCurl Low-Poo yesterday, and it is very good on my hair. It is much smoother. I like it.
It seems as though all I do is waste money on new shampoos and conditioners lately. I wish they would sell them in sample sizes for us to buy to see what works.
Good luck!!

if you have a trader joe's nearby, their nourish spa low-poo has been pretty nice for me. granted, everyone's hair will react differently to things, but i haven't noticed any 'stickiness' or the like.
good luck!

melle76a,
thanks for the tip. I have a TJ's about 30 min from my house. I'll have to check it out.

I've been using Shikai everyday shampoo for my low-poo and it's fine. I don't love the scent, so I might try something else when I run out of this bottle, but I've not had the tangling problems with it (I had the same issue with the sugar beet burts).
It foams A LOT so a little bit goes a long way.
Back in the day I used to use Nature's Gate shampoo/condish, with good success, not sure if they're CG or not though

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look into Shikai. I've never heard of it before.

I haven't tried Burt's Bees shampoos, but I have heard from other people who have that they experienced the same stickiness that you are talking about.
I used Kiss My Face lo-poo last month (I only use a lo-poo when absolutely necessary) and really like the results.
