Default Paul Mitchell Sculpting foam and Round Trip

When I was in Ulta today I noticed they had these two items packaged together and on the packaging it said these two products mixed together work well for curly hair. Has anyone tried this?

Of course, you know I am. I know there was an article on here about cocktails (it was an older article) and it mentioned mixing other Paul Mitchell products but not these two.

The hairdresser I usually go to is in a Paul Mitchell salon, and she used the round trip on me. It had really nice hold, and my hair was really nicely defined. The bad part... it was kinda plasticy looking, and producty. Kinda like I had a plastic glaze in my hair. I don't know if it was how she applied it, but you know...

I don't know about the foam... sorry.

I have used these products for the past two days with good results. I have been using 2 'short' squirts of round trip and a good sized ball of mousse. I kinda squish them together in my hand then apply to my hair. Yesterday I was out apple picking in the wind and in the car with the sun roof open and it held up pretty decent. What I noticed was very minimal frizz. Today I put a bit of fuzzy duck gel over the top. Now, I was not out and about in the wind today so not a real good comparison but today I had better longevity.

Tomorrow I may try this a liquidy gel to see how it works instead of the round trip.

For some reason I did not have any issues with the MagSulf in this product when mixed with the mousse. And I cannot use any jessicurl styling products no matter what!!

Interesting.... Well, I recall the Round Trip giving my hair excellent curl "memory", so enjoy it!

curl/definition retention. In the 'right' weather with the 'right' product my hair will retain its definition thru a ponytail/workout/shower with a shower cap, etc.

I used to get through tonnes of Round Trip, going back a few years when it first came out. I decided it was too expensive in comparison with other products and stopped buying it. Loved the results though, never any complaints from me.

I wanted to update. Today I used AG liquid effects combined with the Paul Mitchell mousse. I got nice volume with minimal frizz and good curl formation. I can see that I did not get enough product on the left side but other than that I liked this combo better than the round trip/mousse combo. I got more curl and better hold. I will try again tomorrow and I might try to use a wide toothed comb to distribute everything and then scrunch so I get better distribution.
