need a "No or Lo Poo" but cheaper- any ideas?

i have a lot of hair and i can't afford to use deva's no or low poo.
i have to use it fairly often b/c of very hard water and coarse hair.

any cheaper alternatives ? only co-washing did not work without some low poo.

maybe i could make my own? adding honey to Creme of Nature still left me feeling over washed. Thanks!
giovanni's triple tea tree treat (or whatever it's called) runs about $8 at riteaid or wholefoods. i believe their other 'shampoos' are also gentle. if you have a trader joe's nearby, their shampoos (all of them, i believe) have gentle cleansing ingredients. i use the nourish spa and like it well. it's only about $3 or $4 per bottle.

Another suggestion would be Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Shampoo, found at drugstores and some food stores.

speaking of this, does anybody else hate the smell? I wanted to try it, but can't bear the overwhelming smell!

I know you said you didn't like a co-poo, but I really like to use Kirkland's (it's Costco's brand) Hydrating Conditioner. When you add a little water it almost lathers a little. I can't use any other conditioner to co-poo but this one works great and you get 2 huge bottles for cheap. Of course, if you aren't a member, it won't help you!

I agree re the Trader Joes; all their haircare is great for the money. Also, I think people really like the Aldi stuff and some of the generics from Sally.

Have you considered Soap Bars? They last FOREVER.

I am using the GTTTT shampoo. Yes, I do have a problem with that smell, but I love the way it makes my scalp tingle. You can also get it at Target for $ 6-8/ bottle.

hauptaj; I quoted part of your siggie because I'd like to know how much CHS Silk LI you use each time. I have it and like it but I'm not sure how much to use(more or less?)

Nature's Gate makes lowpoo shampoos. They are not too expensive.

For me NoPoo is a unique product. When I use it I don't regard it as a "cowash."
Wavy, curly on the ends, 2C.
Coarse to medium textured, porous, dry, and lots of it.

Also check out Marshall's for cheap low poo's. I just picked up a litre of Healthy Sexy Hair's Chocolate Soymilk shampoo (sulfate free) for 9.99. This will last me and my 2 kids many months I've seen other non sulfate shampoo's there as well and if you check ingredients you might be able to find some. There are brands I'm not so familiar with occasionally. My Marshall's currently has the Giovanni's 50/50 shampoo and the Giovanni Tea Treat Shampoo as well as a Giovanni Golden Wheat shampoo for $4.99.

P.S. My kids love the fragrance as it smells exactly like chocolate soymilk!
