Can heat protection products FULLY protect hair from heat damage?

I'm fully committed to being natural, and of course, there are people (my frient in particular) who feel that I need to straighten my hair. I always reply that I don't want to damage my hair further, and she says that as long as you use heat protection products and the like, you won't get heat damage. I don't really believe her, but I just want to make sure. :/

Thanks for helping! (:
3b/c. High porosity. Med/coarse texture.
Well, I suppose heat styling is supposed to damage your hair by increasing your porosity...I heat styled at 450 degrees F for 5 years, at least 4 or 5 days a week. I used a heat protector. My hair is still low porosity so I guess at least my hair's cuticle layer wasn't damaged. However the heat protectors themselves can have some drying ingredients in them...

The higher setting you use more it can make your look dry. The more often you use a flat iron can also have long term effect.

I own flat iron for about 3 years different brands not because does not work anymore.

Conair Infiti 2 - 2 inch - Cermanic flat iron it really big too big to go over my hair especially when your hair is short. Sometimes you might miss where hair need to be middle and get nick by hot heating plates it can burn the tips of your fingers

Vidal Sasson 1 inch - This cermanic but seem more like Cermanic coating which feel horrible on hair. Plus I got this one was suppose to save engery in fact it just sucks in results. It like brand new condition

Baby mini flat iron - Best Hair Days
I thought this would be pefect for my bangs but turns the dam thing goes max 450 in result looks to fried so related that being my hair is not most thicks but not fines texture type. So maybe someone with really stubborn hair might need this max tempature

Proliss - This is one - I have been using 2 months. I say negative ion has been the best one. I out my flat irons that gave me most for my money. One feel like my hair is more healthy. I use on my bangs when need it feel like they been recondition more soft like/more shiny without hair serum wierd but cool.

So answer your hair question regarding heat damage you need to try out different types heat protection stay away from spray type suck. Your better off with pomoade or made be serum...
