Default Totally Chopped off my hair

It was so damaged, I didn't do anything but pull it back into a pony-tail, so I just told my stylist to cut all the damage off. Now my hair is like a long pixie cut in back, that's fine, then it's cut into kind of a trendy cut that is supposed to come to a point, but since I'm wearing it curly all the time, just flips out. I guess you could call it a short assymetrical bob.

It's not even really long enough to put in a diffuser, really. So what do I do to dry my hair? I can't leave with wet hair because temps are in the 40's in the mornings right now.

People actually say they really like the cut, which surprises me because it seems a little wild, maybe that's just the nature of the cut!

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

Your cut sounds really nice! Gonna share some pics with us?

When you say "not long enough to put in a diffuser" I'm assuming you mean one of those bowl diffusers that have the finger-looking pieces poking up out of it -- is that right? Would you consider trying a "hot sock" diffuser? That's worked well for me for the rare times I diffuse.

Will air-drying work? I wake up early to allow time for air-drying while I do other stuff around the house in the mornings. I realize that option is not for everyone.

No pics until it has time to recover from the shock of having it cut. It's a little wild right now.

I'll have to look into a Hot Sock because my hair definitely does not fit into the bowl diffuser. And I think I'm back to square one on product application, too.

Air-drying really isn't a good option for me because most of the time, I'm late for work as it is. I always sleep past my alarm (gotta get past that!) and rush through getting ready and out the door. It's a day to mark on the calendar when I actually wear makeup to work!

Gravy, maybe this isn't so much a hair crisis as a lazy crisis!

You don't necessarily have to put your hair down into a bowl diffuser to use one - I often don't even though my hair's long enough. When it was fairly short last winter (see Fotki), I still used my bowl diffuser.

If you have a hardhat dryer, you could apply product, clip it if needed, and sit under it for a bit so you don't have to leave with it wet.

I think I might have to break and buy a hardhat dryer. That's what she used in the salon.

I totally want to see pictures! I am actually cutting my hair off today! (Not cause of damage, just don't have time to keep up with the length!)

When I had short hair before (before CG too thought) I used my diffuser- just did the lowest setting. I am thinking I will be thinking of other options for you and I both here soon!

I hope that something works!

And you should show us pictures anyway!!

I would still use the diffuser, but on a low setting. It doesn't have to be in the hair to actually work. We need pics now! If you are already getting compliments, we don't need to wait for it to adjust.

Default Pictures...at Last!

Okay, girls...here are the pictures. I realized that I need to get some water out of my hair before I apply products. Today was AG mousse/gel. Keep in mind that this is hair after a nap. Sorry for the face. Self-imposed pictures never turn out well.

So What do you think? Is my face too round for it? Suggestions?

I love it! Maybe try the sock diffuser? That might work better. You could also try the bowl diffuser anyway and see if it works. HTH

I love it! I know how long you've waited to get some curls back so yay!

How about a flat diffuser like this one?

Oooohhhh...I like that one. I have a pancake one from conair that I might dig up. Today was the result of a bowl diffuser, so it's not too bad. I really like the back, it's just the front I'm still trying to get to look right!

Your hair looks great - you have plent of volume it is not sitting flat which is great! You will get it how you want it - just takes a little bit of time with a new cut. It will be sooooo healthy now!

Awwwww, thank you girls! I really do like it. I have realized my hair doesn't respond well to gel. At least so far.

I love the cut!! Looks great on you.
And those flat diffusers are great. I've used them for decades with short and long hair and all in between.
