Hiya, been MIA for several months....nope, haven't been CG either. I don't know what happened with my hair...I couldn't do CG anymore, it's like my hair totally rebelled. It's not fond of shampooing and cone laden products either. Maybe I should go back to sulfate free cleansers and no cones and just co-wash in between? Oh I have no idea. Sheesh, any suggestions are appreciated. thanx!

Current products-

I'm in the same situation. I was actually considering flat ironing for awhile. But instead I'm retrying everything, and my hair's been responding really well.
The thread I posted fit to be tied with my hair lol:
Thinking about heading to the dark side (flat iron)

In your sig it says your hair likes protein? Do you feed your hair an adequate amount? I'm going to start doing Nexxus Emergencee treatments and weekly deep treatments... I haven't done those at all. Then low pooing on the day I do the deep treatments. Co-wash or water wash in between.
Thread I was reading for information on that here:

Definitely try to rotate some of your old products with new products, it'll help you gain passion again for your curls and perk 'em up. Focus on what your problem was and try to get a mini slew of solutions to try out.

Thanks for the suggestions, and the pep talk! I guess I needed a little nudge. I'm going to have to look into that Nexxus stuff, isn't kind of expensive though? I hope a little goes a long way...cause I can't really afford much right now.

I think on CVS it said $13. I don't think it takes much, just enough to coat your hair. Probably not as much as a conditioner. I'd comb it through to get the most bang for your buck.
Kathymack said this about it in an old thread from 08:
"The last time I did a protein treatment with Nexxus Emergencee was 7/27/08. Instead of making it a big deal, I did two minutes in the shower as per package directions. I could feel the difference in the shower! My hair is almost dry and I have nicely defined curls, good volume and almost no frizz--also no gel!"

Ooooh, I think that sealed it. It probably would be a good investment.

I tried egg/yogurt/coconut milk for a cheap experiment to see if my hair liked protein, and it does. I'll probably get the Emergencee next time I see it because I imagine it would work better, but the concoction I used did work. My hair was limp and a little frizzy before I did it, shiny and curly after.

If your hair is shiny then you have low to normal porosity...that's what my stylist said, anyway!
No cones since 08/25/09. Occasional low poo.
Fine, normal to low porosity (still not sure which), ii, 3a/3b curls
Playing with products: HEBE Mousse, BRHG, AOMM, HESMU. Nothing blows my mind just yet.
