People who don't love KCCC

Honestly, I don't know if I like it or not. I've used it several times over the last few months. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I'm just wondering about other people who have had mixed results with KCCC. Did you figure something out to make it work better? Did you just walk away? Why?
How many times have you used it?
I wasn't sure at first, but I kept using it, trying it with different things, using different amounts and with different techniques.
I really like it now.
Play around with how you use it a little bit.
Cleanser: Liquid Castile Soap diluted in a foaming soap dispenser
Rinse:
ACV rinse
Detangler/Conditioner:
Oyin Handmade Greg Juice or Juices and Berries
Stylers: Botticelli Botanicals Styling Mudd, KCCC, Honey Rinses and BRHG, Crack Leave-in Hair Cream when straightening

Tools: Silk pillowcase, Floursack towels, Jersey T-Shirts, Wide Tooth Comb, Velecta Paramount TGR-VQX Hair Dryer (for when I straighten) and BaByliss PRO Ionic Rollabout Hard Hat Dryer
Oh, the many ways I've tried it. I've tried it on soaking wet hair, wet hair, and damp hair. I've used it without a LI and with FOTE, GDLI, and BWCLI. I've tried it alone, with BHRG, Angell, LA Sports, Giovanni, Got2be Spiked gels. I've tried a quarter size blob and a whole palmful. I guess what frustrates me is that my results are inconsistent. The best it ever worked was when I used it on wet hair with nothing underneath and nothing on top. I say that was the best, in terms of curl definition, but by the end of the day it was frizz city. And sometimes, it doesn't seem to do anything at all. So I guess I'm just frustrated that this amazing product that does so much for so many doesn't seem to do much for me!
I'm still struggling with it. I got a sample from kathymack and tried it about 8 different ways and no go. Recently I got it again and it is still not working for me. I put it aside to see if lower dews will help.

My problem is that it seems producty no matter how little i use and the curls end up in big ringlet's and fall flat by mid day.

I've tried varying amounts, leave in's, and techniques (diffuse, airdry, plop) and so far nothing works well.

Not sure what I'm going to do from here on out.

I didn't like it. Of course, I stupidly tried it in summer, not winter, because that's when my local Whole Foods started carrying it. (But it was early summer, it was cool, and I don't think the dewpoints were super high yet). For me, it provided no hold or curl enhancement, and left me looking both frizzy and producty, besides. I wound up swapping it.

It might work better in winter, but meh. I don't have the patience. For aloe-based products, I'm liking AOMM, Duchess of Curls, and Aubrey B-5 gel a lot better. I think maybe it's the Agave Nectar that my hair didn't like. Either that or the lack of holding agents.

Wurly and proud!
Modified CG since 2008.
It makes my waves really stringy no matter how small the quantity I use. I plan on experimenting with it some more but as of now, I don't really like it & am still looking for my HG gel.
2a/b, coarse, high density
no idea on porosity
protein & oil-sensitive
giving CG another go as of July 2009
(previously on modified CG)

Current Experiment:
Co-wash - Biolage Conditioning Balm, Suave Naturals Wild Cherry Blossom
Rinse-out - Biolage Conditioning Balm, AOHR
Leave-in - Biolage Conditioning Balm, JCS Nourish & Shine
Style - Deva Arc Angell, KCCC
DT - condish/avg/honey mix, Ojon RHT

It never worked for me no matter the season. Took way too long to dry and while it gave nice clumps initially, they always quickly poof and lose definition.

I might try it on my daughter and see if she likes it. Generally we just do leave in's for her and protective styles but she wears it out probably 1x in 4 days or so.Hmm.

You like CK and LOOC too, right? (That was you who just posted about them?) My hair didn't care for the BRHG so much -- left me too stringy. But I have often liked CK, and the LOOC looks good so far.
I tried it several different ways but gave up in the end. From memory I had similar results to wavycurly. Nasty.
3b in South Australia.
I swapped it out over the summer but got it back in another swap recently (not the same KCCC, i don't think). I want to try again.
