KCCC taking a really long time to dry?

Today I did not rinse out any of my Devacare One C (my hair is super thick and has tons of volume so I just can't overcondition or weigh my hair down) and then used KCCC over the conditioner. I let my hair air dry for about 7 hours and it was still wet underneath the canopy! I did hit it with the diffuser but I hate to do that.

Anyway...is there anything that works as well as KCCC but that dries faster? Or am I using too much KCCC? I ran the KCCC down from roots to ends (I have too much hair to do the upside down scrunch thing and would miss entire sections of hair if I didn't rake it through section by section).

Thanks for any advice!!

Some people (myself included) have experienced KCCC to cause longer drying time like that. I diffuse my hair completely when I use KCCC. I diffuse normally anyway, as I am a wavy and want enhancement (as much as I can get) but it takes longer with KCCC. However, I still use KCCC because the results are worth it. It's one of my HG products. I've never found anything that gives me the hold and the enhancement both that KCCC gives me.

My hair never dried when I used KCCC. It was maddening. I gave it up.
lol. Welcome. You must be new.

Yes, KCCC leaves you with perpetually wet hair. Some curlies have gotten better results putting the KCCC into less than soaking wet hair.

Its never worked for me regardless.

My hair doesn't dry completely product or no product! Since I was a former curling pudding user I thought I had to use a lot of KCCC. I can get about 10-12 uses out of the KCCC. The Miss Jessie's sisters described my hair as "extremely thick". It's bra length when straightened 4a hair.

Teresina, KCCC is definitely a challenging product. But two things may help.

First, as rymorg2 mentioned, you do need to spend more time diffusing and getting closer to a dry state than you would with other products. I find that if I dry to about 90% dryness, I'm fully dry within an hour.

Second, try toweling *before* you apply KCCC. The more water you can get out of your hair before the KCCC goes on, the better. This stuff loves moisture and hangs on to every drop of it.

It took me many tries to get the hang of this stuff, but now that I have, it is my holy grail product. I love it! (Mixed with gel, that is.)

This is interesting, since I've definitely heard many say that KCCC makes their hair take forever to dry.

What's interesting, is that when I use it, my hair dries way faster. Literally air dries within 90 minutes, then I just scrunch it out. I love it for this reason, since I hate going anywhere with wet looking hair. Other stuff takes a few hours. I generally apply it to soaking wet hair, over KCKT. Then I scrunch out the moisture, and then plop with a microfiber towel 10 mins, then air dry.

Just curious.....how come it has that opposite effect on me? I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I was just curious.

Thanks for your responses everyone! Today when I got out of the shower (without rinsing out any of my Devacare One C) I put my hair up in a t-shirt and left it that way probably about 5-7 minutes so it wasn't as wet as last time. Then I put in more conditioner and the KCCC and it seems to be drying a little faster this morning so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks again; I really appreciate all the advice I can get!!!!
KCCC definitely makes my hair take a lot longer to dry. You want to towel dry your hair first. Even when I sleep with my hair wet I will diffuse for about 5 minutes before going to bed if I used KCCC because my hair will still be quite damp in the morning if I don't.
That is the only downside to it. Otherwise I love it! I always have good hair days with it.
Cleanser: Liquid Castile Soap diluted in a foaming soap dispenser
Rinse:
ACV rinse
Detangler/Conditioner:
Oyin Handmade Greg Juice or Juices and Berries
Stylers: Botticelli Botanicals Styling Mudd, KCCC, Honey Rinses and BRHG, Crack Leave-in Hair Cream when straightening

Tools: Silk pillowcase, Floursack towels, Jersey T-Shirts, Wide Tooth Comb, Velecta Paramount TGR-VQX Hair Dryer (for when I straighten) and BaByliss PRO Ionic Rollabout Hard Hat Dryer
Unfortunately for some reason I ended up with stringy curls yesterday. I put plenty of conditioner in and thought that wasn't supposed to happen when you used conditioner before KCCC. Oh well...at least it did dry faster but I'll be experimenting a lot I guess!
Jillipoo....I live in FL, the state of the high dewpoints. Maybe it's the high temps that helps it dry faster? One day I was outside in the hot sun, and it was dry within about 45 minutes.

I dunno...

Oh, how I'd love some sun here in foggy, cold San Francisco!
