If you never get compliments on your hair
would you wonder if you need a different more flattering hairstyle? What do you think?
|
Post a picture. We will be honest. And complimentary:happy7:
|
Maybe you never get compliments because your hair has always looked great. If you've once had an awful style then changed it, people would notice.
I never get compliments but when i first transformed from straight to natural, i got them all the time, now nothing, unless I ask. Do you like your hair and do you think it looks good? |
my husband told me yesterday he thinks my curls are vey unflattering on me... but then again, i have seem women on tv etc that have GORGEOUS curls and i ask him if he thinks it looks good and he says, "ehh".
|
Wavy Wonder, tell your husband that straight hair never gets that gorgeous tousled bed-head look that you KNOW he loves :]
and maybe it is time for a switch up, it depends on how long you've had the same style. |
Well that wasn't very nice of your husband, wavy wonder!!
In regard to the original question - it could be just because people are used to how your hair looks - but not because it looks bad. I think it's time for me to get a trim - not looking forward to it... |

Maybe people are used to the way my hair looks and that is why. BUT I also think my hairstyle doesn't flatter my heart shaped face. The style kinds of drags my face down. I think a style for a heart shaped face should either frame it or somehow make the face shape look more oval. I am an artist and a bit of a perfectionist and it really seems off to me. Granted, I am growing out a bad cut but it shouldn't take a year to find a flattering look!
Wavy, why on earth would your husband say that to you?? How did you respond to him when he said that? |

LOL, just asked him if he liked my hair tonight and he said yes. He's worse than a girl:tongue5:
|
I think your waves for sure flatter you, wavywonder, as far as I can tell from your siggie pic.
Men think girl hair is straight hair. |
I get complments from strangers, but my friends rarely say anything except
If I compliment their hair, they'll say "you hair looks great. Your hair always looks great". So while they don't regularly say something, I don't worry that that means mine looks bad.
I'm sure you're beautiful! |

Like others have said, I normally only get compliments if I have a new cut or style. Or I might get a "your hair is getting so long!", something like that. I get the occasional random compliment, but not often. As long as I'm happy with the way it looks, it doesn't bother me.
|
I think my issue is I am not happy with the way it looks. My face is longish and heart shaped and my Deva Cut seems rectangular. It really drags me down and makes me look older. I am supposed to wait another month for a cut. Maybe it will be shaped differently as my old butchered cut grows out more or maybe Deva Cuts are not for me. I hope the latter is not the case though!

This is exactly why I've lightened up my top, gotten some loose bangs, and try to focus on volume over definition. I just felt like the straight down, even curls were making me look a little '90s. Now I like to wear my hair a little messy, instead of gunning for those perfect spirals every morning. |
