Good news and bad news...

the good news - it's official. My hair is in much better condition than it has been in years and years. I have to say I owe almost all of it to the Garnier Triple Nutrition. I've been using this stuff as a leave in for a few weeks now. My hair is consistently soft and much less frizzy than I can ever remember. I flat ironed my hair yesterday. I like to do this every so often to check the length and just because I like a change every now and then. I used very little silicone serum for heat protection and my hair is shiny and ridiculously soft - even my ends. It looked really pretty straight.

The bad news- not really bad news I guess but a little disappointing. Everyone went crazy for my straight hair last night at pool. I got a ridiculous amount of compliments and a lot of people told me it looks much better straight than curly. I happen to like my hair curly and will continue to wear it that way regardless of what anyone else thinks of it but it was a little disappointing to hear just about everyone say they liked it better straight. It did look really good tho. It looked thick and healthy with lots of body and shine to it. But still...it's not really "my" hair when it's straight!

Well congrat's first on the good condition hair!! That's a great thing!

And for those who like it straight..well that's great...they can like whatever they like It's hard when people respond like that...but remember that the ideal style right now is very straight so everyone reacts to their notion of what they consider to be the ideal...that's really all they're doing.

Lambs to the slaughter really.........it's so ingrained people don't really even think about it! It just so happens we live in a technological world..and all the images (or many anyhow) are of straight hair.

You look great in either style---and healty hair is the be all end all as far as I'm concerned..everything else is icing

Honestly, sometimes I think people confuse "better" with "different." I would always get comments and compliments when I straightened my hair, but on the flip side, I also got compliments when I changed from constantly wearing my hair straight to curly.
Type: 3a - type 1 on the underside. Thinning.

Currently using:
-Organix Tea Tree Mint Shampoo (occasionally)
-Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition conditioner
-Suave Waterfall Mist Conditioner or Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific as leave-in
-A mix of Shique Gel and HE Totally Twisted mousse
-FX Curls Up Mousse, on occasion

It was most likely the change. If you wear it straight for 6 months then show up curly they would have a similar reaction.

I have totally come to realize its just the CHANGE, and not the actual hairstyle. Well, most of the time it is. Sometimes some people do look better one way or the other, and I haven't seen your straight hair, but your curly hair is to. die. for. Not ugly or frizzy -- so its gorgeous.

they are just reacting to the new. If you want, I have a whole psych essay I had to read about how we as humans react to "new" rather than quality.
