I've done it both ways. Both are good but have different results. When I do it tightly I have to use clips at my roots, otherwise my hair ends up plastered to my skull, and I get flathead when it dries. However, my curls are a lot tighter and springier. When I do it loosely I don't need clips. My curls aren't as tight, but I end up with some sexy, full hair!

Never really thought about it, but I guess I do it more on the 'tight' side, although not too tight. My hair is long and I feel like plopping doesn't do me any good if I make it too loose. I want it to absorb the excess moisture, so making it a bit tighter will do that for me.
I do it tightly to soak up the excess water. My hair's so arned thick, it doesn't flatten at all!
