The lashes are courtesy of Maybelline Define a Lash Mascara in the green tube. It's amazing!

Do it! FSG and this styling technique is my winter HG routine.

I tried this today with KCCC mixed with BRHG and it worked really really well. I have been having trouble this winter with my waves falling out by about noon, and today my waves are still holding after a day of 3 classes, one midterm, work, a doctor's visit, riding the bus and intermittent rain. I will definitely start doing this more often (if not everyday!).

I'm assuming you're scrunching out the crunch when it's all dry? I can't stand an all over crunchy feeling. Any crunchy spots invite my mother to play and complain about how I'm 'not taking care of' my hair

Yes, I always SOTC. The pics make my hair look crunchy, but it isn't, it's super soft. HTH

I didn't try it while I was snowed in. I ended up with a stomach bug and didn't do my hair at all .
Today I did the usual because I was in a rush, but I will try it this weekend. I promise!

I'm always game to try a new styling technique. Yesterday I used KCCC over GDLI, plopped a bit, diffused a bit, then scrunched in more KCCC, and diffused a bit more. Finished by airdrying. SOTC and admired the curls. Got great 2nd day hair today even though it is cold and rainy. Thanks for posting your technique! Next I'll try it with FSG.

I've been using this with really good results. I've done it with FSG, KCCC, CIAB, Boots, EcoStyler and Komaza CHP. All give equally good results. I find that I do an initial upside down scrunch once to sides, front and back, then wet my hands so my curls don't grab or stick to my hand and then scrunch abit more. Finish diffusing, SOTC and done. Thanks again smasters!

I did this today while air drying and it turned out great! I used EcoStyler Krystal and scrunched in some more after it had air dried to about 50%. My hair still looks great 9 hours later .

Thanks for the update. I was curious if it would work just as good on air dried hair. I definitely have to try this soon with FSG.

Love this mascara, too - it and Maybelline Lash Discovery (both waterproof in my case) are my HG's that I always go back to. LD has been around a long time, but I'm always afraid DAL will go away like the original early 80's version did. I've used many of the most expensive mascaras, but come back to these - I don't care what they cost but how they perform, as with hair products.
ETA: Never mind the reference to the 80's verision - I was thinking Dial-a-Lash, not Define-a-Lash, the latter's what I like and use now, but only on top. I need that little Lash Discovery brush for the bottom.
BTW, I've been using your technique a lot of the time for as long as I remember - I just go by how it's feeling/looking/behaving at that halfway point. You just get to where you can tell on your own hair after a while, or at least that's what I find. I usually just use more of whatever gel I've already used, so sometimes it's KCCC, sometimes it's not.

I can't wait to try this technique. Thanks for posting! Just a question. When you scrunch in the second time, do you wet your hands first before applying the KCCC? Does it matter?

I don't wet my hands, but I'm sure you could. I just apply the KCCC or gel right on to my hair. HTH

Do you use the pixie curl method when diffusing, and do you diffuse upside down? I don't have a heat setting option on my hair dryer, bust high or low. I'm assuming that I'd start out on the low setting and after adding product at the 50% dry mark, put it on high?

I'm so glad it's working so good for most of you ladies!
tproul-I pixie curl upside down, gives me the most volume and definition. Once I scrunch in the KCCC, I flip right-side up and finish drying on high heat. Since you don't have a heat setting I'd use the low setting the entire time because the high will blow around the hair too much I think. HTH
