I'm so glad it's working so good for most of you ladies!

tproul-I pixie curl upside down, gives me the most volume and definition. Once I scrunch in the KCCC, I flip right-side up and finish drying on high heat. Since you don't have a heat setting I'd use the low setting the entire time because the high will blow around the hair too much I think. HTH

I tried it this morning with pretty good results. My hair seems less curly, but that might be because I wasn't able to diffuse much after the 50% mark since my kids woke up early. My hair is usually a little curlier if I'm able to diffuse longer. But I really like the curl definition, and I also have much less frizz than I've been having all week.

I wonder if this technique can be paired up with the ice queen method to get more clumps? Has anyone tried this?

Worked better than anything else has in a while. Of course, I'm also on Day 4 of going all CG, too. whoo-hoo!
3a?; very fine
Started CG 4.1.2010
Growing it out; would love waist length, but my hair grows slowly.

i tried it today and i like the results, although i still have frizzies... here is a pic
i was almost going to give up on my KCCC as it hasnt been working at all for me, so yay you saved me the hassle of getting rid of it.
I used KCKT as a leave in and then CJ curl assurance smoothing gelee as the curl gel.. might try it again with a stronger gel to see how it contains frizz

I'm glad this technique was bumped because I forgot about it and never got to try it. I've been having ramen noodle problems and I can't wait to try this tomorrow.

I'm going to use CCCC and scrunch in until about 50% dry and they use either Spiral Solutions CEJ or KCCC. I hope it works!

Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Conditioners: Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthening Conditioner,
Deep condish: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.

I did this today, using KCCC over CJCCCC lite - it didn't do as well as when I used Ecostyler over same the past two times I did my hair. It's straight on top right in the front, and I have more frizz. I've also had better results with the method with some other products, but I think this was the first time I tried it with actual KCCC.

All in all, the method works well for me, but KCCC doesn't give me enough hold or otherwise work as well for me as some other products do.

Interesting, Aunt Nett. I'd just as soon use something other than KCCC because it takes so long for me to dry it. Maybe other slightly harder gels would work better. The main thing for me is to use a good curl creme underneath and not put in the KCCC or gel until after diffusing 50%. I'm trying it out tomorrow.

It didn't take as long to dry as KCCC does sometimes, but then I didn't use too much (was afraid it'd be greasy over the CJCCCC, even though it was the lite formula).

Ecostyler, Giovanni Magnetic Attraction, Spiral Solution FHG, AOB5, and Deva ArcAngell have all done better added at the halfway point than KCCC itself did today - but that may just be me and my crazy hair, LOL!

I don't have any of the ones you mention. I have Biolage Firm Hold Gellee, and a sample of Spiral Solutions Curl Enhancing Jelly. I've never tried either one so tomorrow I'm playing chemist. Crossing my fingers....

I might use the KCCC since at least I know it and can figure out what to expect. If the system works (Curl Junkie CCCC with a little Aloe Fix mixed in and diffuse 50%) then use a little KCCC, I may switch to a gel that's better for me than the KCCC. I have Fuzzy Duck on order. Lord, what a PJ I've become, but since my surgery, I have a somewhat devil may care attitude. Like, who knows what can happen - may as well spend some money and have good hair (LOL).

SS CEJ doesn't have much hold, at least not for me. It'll probably give you good curls, just may not be lasting enough. If you've ever used AOMM, it works similarly to me and is about the same consistency.

Haven't used Biolage FHG, but I've tried BRHG at the halfway point, and it's just too thick - I ended up having to spray some water on my hands to thin it down so I could even distribute it. It ended up kind of sticky/tacky. I think I got good second day hair after pineappling, though.

Forgot to list LA Looks Sports gel - it worked well, too.

I'm glad this is working for so many of you. The KCCC is still what works best for me. I don't need anything on top of it for extra hold, but I know a lot of curlies do. I've tried the technique with a lot of products, and almost anything will work as long as the 2nd product is something that dries crunchy. I use this technique everyday, and don't have bad hair days very often. Some cheaper products that I've used are: Volumax styling glaze and gel, Ecostyler, and LA Looks Sport Gel. I loved the clumps that I got with the Ecostyler, but it didn't seem to have quite enough hold for me.

Thanks Aunt Nett and Smasters. I appreciate what you said about CEJ - I kind of had that sense - that it might not be enough hold, so tomorrow I'll try CCCC followed by KCCC after the 50% point. I just won't use too much.

I'll try the Fuzzy duck when it arrives. I've heard a lot of good things about LA Sports Gel. I hope its CG.

I don't have stringlets! Yippee. I think we need to call this the smasters method.

Just as background, since my hair was cut for surgery six months ago, it's quite short all over. I low pood with Deva Lo poo and used La Coupe Silky Smoothing Conditioner mixed with a little Curlisto Botanical Rinse.

Rinsed out upside down with cool rinse at the end and then smoothed in pea size Curlisto Repair which is a heat protectant followed by scrunching in Curl Junkie CCCC in dripping hair. I used probably almost 2 quarters worth since my hair tends to be dry since I color it. Then I diffused until about 50%. I could already see that I was NOT getting stringlets! Then I scrunched in about a quarter's worth KCCC and diffused some more both times on medium heat.

When hair was about 90% dry, I let it air dry. Then SOTC although there was no crunchiness at all and hardly had to SOTC. Soft halo of curls. Ringlets. Spirals. No stringlets. My hair looks similar to Smasters but a little curlier. I'm in heaven. Yesterday my hair was a disaster - today I want to go out and show it off. It's still so short from the surgery, but still, I feel pretty.

Yay Curlypearl!! I'm so glad it worked for you, and thank you for the kudos. I'd love to have a technique named after me, but I doubt I was the only one doing it. I just happened to mention it.
