Plopping tools
I was just curious what everyone plops their hair in.

Turban. T shirt is too tricky and I end up with frizz and broken up curls on the sides of my head

I agree with IC.
I use my turban sideways. I twist sides and wrap them behind my neck and then button it closed.

I voted t-shirt as it's my most common plopping tool.
I do use a microfiber turban sometimes, but I can't get the technique down with that as well as I can with the t-shirt. The t-shirt seems to really keep down the frizz.
Also, I always feel like the microfiber sucks product out of my hair, but I don't have any hard evidence to support that feeling. I probably just got it in my head that it would happen, and now I'm paranoid.

Currently I am using a t-shirt and it works fine but this weekend I am going to get a microfiber turban. I've been pricing them all over town this week. Hopefully it can cut back on my frizz just a bit.

I have the turban and towel - I use the towel. I have yet to try a t-shirt, but I keep saying I'm going too.
Ab-star: Your hair is gorgeous!! I ALSO want my hair just like that (today's pics). You just convinced me to try fast food!

I use a cotton sarong. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work with a t-shirt, but I'm definitely happy with the sarong.

None of the above- I normally use the CurlEase towel.
I ocassionaly use a t-shirt, but only for a few days after dyeing (don't want to turn my white towel orange!).

ROFL! Yup, I've stained a few of hubby's tshirts after coloring my hair. Oops!
Question about the CurlEase towel: Is it not microfiber? What's the difference?

It's made of a different material. But from what I have read one major difference seems to be that the CurlEase does not get stiff with dried products- so obviously it's leaving them in your hair! But I've never actually used a microfiber towel myself.

I have a turban and a towel and use both, but I blot rather than plop as plopping tightens my curls. 4a's don't need that

I voted turban, but I don't use microfiber. Just regular old cheap terry turbans I get on ebay.

Smooth stretchy tshirt for me. The one I use I never put in the dryer, I let it airdry so the texture doesn't get roughed up or picked all over. The stretchiness helps the hair cling to the head so they're even springier when I take it off. An mf towel frizzed up my hair too much, and I can't stand how they feel.

I love my microfiber turban! My hair has been plopping great in it, and I use the outside of the long part that you twist to scrunch out crunch. It's been very helpful for me.

I use an old stretchy smooth shirt that has long sleeves. That way, I can wrap the sleeves around my head for a good fit/hold. Works better than a silly little MF towel. [I always hated the way those towels felt, too.]

I picked t-shirt. I tried a MF turban but I think my hair is too short or something, it kept falling out no matter how tightly I buttoned the turban. It also gave me frizz and ill-defined curls. It took me a while to get the hang of the t-shirt but now it gives me nice tight curls.
I wonder if there is a pattern here between hair types and the plopping tool of choice? I am a 3a/ 2c and I think I just read a post by someone with the same hair type who got frizz with the MF turban as well.
