Essential Wholesale Co-Op

Yep, I'll take 16oz instead of 8oz too. Hope I like the stuff!
I didn't order, but I can't wait to read what everyone thinks of their products! Sounds like a great resource and maybe I can get in on the next GO or I will order samples to start with.

I'm not part of the co-op, either, but I, too, am looking forward to how the whole thing works out & for reviews. I placed 2 orders with them, and I am just thrilled with the products thus far. I've been using the AHA Cream Cleanser and Cream all over my body, actually, and started using the Exotic Butter Cream on my arms and legs...wonderful stuff! I also have another cream, jojoba spray and a lotion that I haven't tried yet. Yes, I'm a cream junkie, and it was all free shipping, lol! I now have 2 conditioners, a third for cowash, and a sulfate free shampoo in my shopping cart...free shipping on all co and poo bases now! And the c/s is excellent. I actually received a proactive phone call advising that one of the ingred's in the jojoba spray was due in soon, so there was a slight delay...it really shipped quickly anyway...good luck with the whole thing!
I do a lot of co-opping online, so I'm just going to offer up some tips as far as how things generally go.

Everyone pays a packaging fee. Usually denoted by the organizer. Anywhere from $.50 per order, to $1.00 per every $20.00 or so on. Depends on if she's going to have to buy boxes or envelopes or whatever.

Everyone pays by Paypal, and MUST add on the appropriate fees (2.9% x whatever it is) so the organizer doesn't get jilted. In order to keep things uniform, this is how my group does the subject field: EssentialWholesale/Username/$AmountSent. Then just post your order into the notes field.

Shipping to the organizer is divided by weight- generally known as "ship to me" fees. It's just easier that way rather than everyone having to pay for massive orders they didn't make.

Shipping to us is calculated by weight. The organizer weighs everyone's stuff once divided & posts a weight on the spreadsheet & what sort of packaging she's using. You take your spreadsheet weight & head on over to the USPS.com website & buy postage - using the organizer's ZIP code, and your home address. Save the PDF on your computer, then when the organizer calls for it, we email her mailing slips.

Hmm... other things - it's not unusual to pay the organizer a fee (1.00-2.00 per order)- esp, if she'd doing a crap load of organizing - just nice to let the person know their hard work is appreciated.

All orders are usually put up on a spreadsheet doc. My group uses http://viewer.zoho.com/ . You can go down the spreadsheet & see what you ordered, how many fees you owe, your shipping weight & your total due via PP.

I hope that helps give some ideas as to how to organize some things - I'd offer to help with the spreadsheet, but um, since I don't even know how to use Excel, that would probably be just wrong

By the way - is here a SUBSCRIBE button anywhere?? I keep forgetting to check back here!

i ordered (and received) the simple aloe jelly on my own. i added dead sea salt to it. it looks good in the bottle, in my hand. but when i go to scrunch it in, it suds up like shampoo!! head full o' foam. i have no idea why that is happening. i diffused anyway, and i'm not loving the results, but i'm sure this is purely operator error.

today i tried mixing it with BRHG to see if something in that would inhibit the foam. no luck.

anyone have any ideas about what i could add to make it not sudsy? if nothing else, i just wanted to share that if you're hoping to mix it with dead sea salt, don't do it! or only try a little tiny bit.

Should we be receiving a PM soon? Just want to make sure I don't miss out! Thanks!

I am in the middle of sending out the last of the PM's!

Vonvonnie -- thanks for taking the time to post that. I haven't asked for addtional money for the packaging, but I did tack an extra 20-50 cents onto each person's "shipping to me" price. It was just easy for me that way because the first time I estimated shipping to me, I did it wrong, but when I went back to recalculate, I realized that I was off 20-50 cents for each item. however, I hadn't calculated for the cost of the item packaging (i.e. the ziplock containers), so I left it there -- just to make it easy.

I didn't think of the fee that paypal charges, but I think I was thinking of everyone sending it gift. However, I don't want people to think that I'm trying to swindle them so if they want to send it as a business transaction, that's fine, but adding the 2.9 percent on at the end would be great. Its very hard to be the co-op organizer and NOT end up getting shorted. You have to be right on top of everything.

I don't have an excel spreadsheet, I just have been typing everything in a text file. If everyone WANTS to see the breakdown I'll be happy to organize it, but I didn't organize it that way -- just in my own goofy table -- because I though some people might get weird about me posting orders publicly. I'm used to co-ops, so I'm used to that, but others might not be.

Also, Im finally starting to run into the "not getting answers back" to my questions and PMs. I sent out 2 on Wednesday that I haven't received a response back on. I mentioned it because I'd like to see a consensus on how long to wait for answers back on amts.

Here is a quick post of what all we're ordering. The number in parenthesis is the number of units that people want. For example, there are 24 units (of 8 oz) each requested. some people are getting 2 units, so there aren't 24 separate orders for it. Just my weird little accounting tool I used. made it easier with other products to see if we had enough requests to order a product.

simple aloe jelly (26)-- 30.70 gallon, (24.05 for two gallons), works out to 2.67 for 8 oz
vit c serum (4)-- 13.10 16 oz, shipping 10.88, works out to 6.00 for 4 oz
calendula butter (4)-- 71.45 1/2 gallon, shipping 11.95. works out to 5.22 for 8 oz
simple facial gel (4)-- 30.90 1/2 gallon, shipping 11.95 works out to 5.35 for 8 oz
green tea cleanser (4)-- 25.25 1/2 gallon, shipping 11.95, works out to 4.65 or 8 oz
AHA scrub creme (4)-- 59.40 1/2 gallon, shipping 12.54, works out to 8.99 for 8 oz
pumpkin masque(4) -- 22.25 1 (lb), shipping 10.88, works out to 8.28 for 4 oz
hair masque (5) -- 29.50 gallon, shipping 16.36, works out to 2.86 for 8 oz (a gallon was 8 bucks more than 1/2 a gallon -- everyone take 16 oz?
ultimate facial serum(3) -- 20.00, 16 oz, shipping 10.88, works out to 7.72 for 4 oz

The shipping you see is the Shipping to Organizer, (me). its off by about 20-50 for each unit, but like I said, I'm making that the cost of the "re-packaging".

Right now, we need extra takers on Aloe Jelly, Hair Masque and one extra taker on Ultimate facial serum.

So, big questions of the day are -- how do you want me to "repackage" and how long to wait for people to give responses on questions?

I will take the 4oz of the Ultimate Facial Serum. Why not???

I vote for cheap and easy packaging, i.e., Ziploc plastic.

I will also add a couple of bucks to my payment for Goob! Hopefully that covers some of the time/effort! And let me reiterate that we need to send PayPal payment as a gift, not as a business transaction, because otherwise $ gets deducted from the amount Goob receives.

And as far as a deadline goes, I say post/email a concrete final deadline, like until 5pm EST Monday 2/22. Everyone has had over a week to change/confirm their order, so it's time to complete the transaction.

Yay for Goob!

Goob - I just PM'd you back but I do want more aloe jelly than the 8oz you have me down for. I can buy the extra. I also vote for the Ziploc. Whatever is cheapest!

Okay, on the "repackaging" Kayelle has volunteered to find out the cheapest 8oz bottles and post the pricing. I think with some of the bottles she found, it might actually be cheaper to go with the 8oz bottles!

I have to go to the store tomorrow so I'll price out the ziplock containers.

Also, all PM's are out now, so if you don't have a PM from me, then I missed your order some how. PLEASE send one to me with what you want last chance for people to request stuff.

So, should we send money to your e-mail via pay pal now or wait until you find out about the bottles?

Hi all - Goob asked me to research bottles. I can't believe how CHEAP they are for what quantity we need.

BOTTLES
8oz "natural cylinder round" - 2nd to last
http://wholesalesuppliesplus.com/Sto...linder+Bottles

CAPS
24/410 size - "black smooth disc top" - halfway down
http://wholesalesuppliesplus.com/Sto...yName=24%2f410

8 oz bottles - $9.25 for 48 pieces
caps - $3.75 for 48 pieces

TOTAL for products: $13.00
Shipping - $11-12?
(I plugged in my address, from Ohio to RI... FL could be a little farther)

So grand total for bottles, caps and shipping should be around $25-27 (high end)

It looks like from Goob's list that we may need closer to 60 bottles, so we may want to order a few 4 oz bottles from Wholesale Supplies Plus to cover the 4oz orders and a few extra 8oz bottles.
4 oz bottles - $4.80 for 12 (.40 each)
caps for 4oz bottles $1.80 12 (.15 each)

Total for 8oz & 4oz - 19.60 + $13 shipping = $32.60

(or we could buy the 48 piece 4oz bottle for $9.75 + another 48 piece cap set for $3.75 OORRRRR we could order another 48 piece of 8oz bottles & caps and be ahead of the game for next time around's co-op)

WOW that's a lot of info, sorry if it's confusing. Let's see what Goob comes up with for Ziploc containers and go from there!
Rhode Island - New England curly
2c-3a/F/i (Fia), shoulder length, need it cut!
Mod-CG since 10/09 - over 1 year!!

Cleanse: Suave condish, WF 365 lavender poo, soap, BS/ACV
Leave in: KCKT, CJ CF
Current winter stylers: CJ SG (HG!), AOMM, Boots, ALWAYS top w/ BRHG
PT: AOGPB, Emergencee, CJ CF
Diffuser dependent!

Right now, we need extra takers on Aloe Jelly, Hair Masque and one extra taker on Ultimate facial serum.

I'll take another 8oz of the Aloe Jelly for a total of 16oz.

I am giving everyone a week to respond. I sent the last notices out on Sunday, so giving people a week to send a "yes that's what I want". On Sunday, I'll give everyone their order total and rearrange how much of each I'm ordering. I'll give everyone a week to get the money to me, and then I'll be ordering. Coordinating over 20 orders is interesting and time consuming heh.

On the good side, I've gotten quick responses from almost everyone. I may start sending out total amt to pay by Friday if everyone has responded (or for example, the only stragglers had orders of nothing but simple aloe jelly).

Oh, though I do still need to price out the ziplock containers. I'll have that up by tomorrow, but don't worry, I promise I'll pick the cheapest option. Right now the bottles are running about .56 cents a piece, and the ziplock containers (if I remember correctly) are at like .67 a piece -- depending on size. And honestly, if the ziplocks were .50 and the bottles were .56, I'd almost prefer the bottles (since they'll be safer to ship and more sturdy). I would only like to go with the ziplocks if they save us a significant amt. If that's fine with everyone else
