I love the funkiness of #1, but #2 doesn't compete with your eyes/face. #2 shows your eyes/expressions more. It still looks unique, too.

Good luck! My husband buys a new pair every 4-5 years, and it is tough to find something you love, will flatter and function well AND won't break the budget.

Awww, thanks you guys, I appreciate the empathy/sympathy! I went to the gym to try and take out some of my frustration on the machines after what happened, so I was able to forget about it for a few hours.
I'm trying mostly not to think about it right now and chalk it up to one of those 'live and learn' things.

CL, you are lucky to have 20/20 now! I've been told by a few eye doctors that I'm legally blind, but apparently that's rather common. I wouldn't think of driving or going out in public without my contacts on. In high school, I had some friends who actually played games with me by making me go out without my contacts and try to guess who was walking towards us. And you know that saying..'I can't hear what you're saying because I can't read your lips.'

DH, I actually tried to call the company today, but they were closed for lunch and then I was gone the rest of the day. I will go ahead and try to call again tomorrow but I seriously doubt they would do anything because it was my mistake and on their website it says they only take back unopened boxes. But it's worth a shot.

In the meantime, if anyone knows anyone with a prescription of -5.75 , let me know and I can fix them up with some contacts.

I couldn't see the pics at home yesterday. So just saw them today.

I like them both but the green ones give you something more -- they look more hip and bring out your eyes. I like rimless, but these are sort of granny-ish.

I agree with many of the others- one's too wide and the other's a bit too demure. You could use something in between the two!

Well hopefully they'll take back the boxes you did not touch...how many did you order and open?

I hope you'll be able to return the contacts.

I really like the green ones by the way. They stand out and green looks good one you. I like the purple head bands with the green glasses.

Awwww sorry to hear lushaholic about ordering wrong contacts.
Is there a possible loophole that you can get the right ones. I don't order my contacts through the mail but once I got a few contacts all dried up and they refunded it for me so there may be some hope.
As for the glasses, I am still trying to decide....

I hear ya on the legally blind stuff, Lush. I am so nearsighted that I was a negative 10 on the scale! I could never wear soft contacts because they wouldn't be able to get them strong enough plus they'd be thick . Permalens was the best I could do.

Thankfully, when I got the cataracts, my wonderful doc said my eyeballs were so elongated that he'd have to put me out totally for the surgery instead of the typical twilight sleep. No problem !

Hope you get your new contacts soon!

i would say the first pair are more limiting as to what you could wear them with - i think they'd look good with your hair up and natural. whereas the second pair could do both. but they both suit you! i just wish i could pull of thicker frames, but i'm stuck with thin ones to suit my wee face.

Well, I called today, and basically I'm out the money, so I'll just have to order again. Although I'm thinking of calling back again tomorrow or monday to see if I get a different person with a different response. Always works for me with the airlines, so it's worth a try here. :P

Ack. That sucks. Try calling again...maybe ask to speak to a manager or supervisor? They usually try to help customers out more than regular CS reps.

Ouch, that sucks about the lenses. I agree with DH, ask for a supervisor. Also, I would be very upfront about it being your mistake. I recently ordered the wrong color when ordering some mineral makeup online (hard to remember that "fair" is lighter than "light"). The company has a generous return policy, so I called and explained my mistake. The woman on the phone immediately said they would send the correct color, and when I asked about returning the wrong one, she said not to bother, that I could pass it along to someone else. Made me an even more loyal customer!

Now, about the glasses. I'm in the same boat, wanting something funky but not sure if it's too much. And the funky ones I REALLY like are insanely expensive. It's really hard to tell about the 1st pair, since they're not the right size, but my hunch is that even in the right size, the chunky earpieces will be too much with your delicate features. The 2nd pair, eh. They'll do if that's what you can afford, but they're not exciting. If you can spend a bit more, take a look at www.framesdirect.com. They have TONS of brand name frames at discount prices. They are also reasonable for making the lenses. You can upload a photo to their site and virtually "try on" frames. You can also go to eyeglass stores, try on frames, write down model #s and then check the prices on the website.

Ok, I didn't want to start another post for this since this is technically not hair-related, but I found another website that lets you borrow glasses to try and theirs are sooo much better! They let you have 3 at a time to try, so I took pics trying them. I've created an album with them, you can see it here Tell me what you think.

#3!! I think they're fun and cute! The heavy earpieces on the other 2 (especially #1) are too much for your face. They make your eyes look too close together.

I like #3. Are you going to try more before deciding? What's the website? I need new glasses, too!

Yeah, I agree. #3 fits you face almost perfectly. The only thing is does that frame come in other colors? They match the shirt that you are wearing perfectly, but I'm just thinking that they might not match your other clothes(I might be wrong though).

IWCH, yes they come in a 'blonde' color (what they call it) and 'ice blue'. The 'blonde' looks really blah brown, and the blue I'm not crazy about. It's funny you guys say that pair because They do feel the best on. The others feel fine too but these have almost a 'perfect' fit to them. Kent likes those the least because of the stripes. Oh well.

RR, yep, I'm going to try some more. It's a company here in sweden - www.optikbutiken.se

Thanks guys.

btw, I just realized both times I had my hair either pulled back or in braids. And it's always after the gym when my hair's taken a real beating.
