What's your HG for reviving curls and 2nd day hair?

I'm looking for a really good product that works (on wet and dry hair) as an afternoon curl booster/reviver, to condition, defrizz, and define fly-aways. I'm in the market for one now and wanted some opinions.

Please if your HG product isn't listed and you choose "other" as your favorite, please tell us what it is!

I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to answer the question and offer some feedback. You all are awesome!

EDITED TO ASK: What is your hairtype?? This is very important info to help anyone interested in choosing a product. TIA!

I'm a 3c.

I like DevaCurl SIF or Pink Boots.

I'm sorry, but I'm not real familiar with her line. What is the SIF? Doesn't Pink Boots come in a tub? Thanks!

lushaholic 10-16-2006 11:12 AM

Devacurl Set It Free is what I always use. It definitely works for me on dry or wet hair, but I mostly use it on dry hair to 'revive' as you said.

Pink boots does come in a tub. I rub a little between my hands and water it down a bit, which is essentially the same way that I use SIF.

Curls Quenched-is my curl reviving spray of choice. I have 3B naturally dry, thick, long, curly hair.

Used to be Ouidad's Botanical Boost. Since I started using oils, that doens't work. I use Curls Milkshake on damp hair (steamed in the shower or spritzed). BB worked on dry hair but I had to use a lot.

Ok, it used to be Honey/water in a spray bottle till I found out after a few days it smelled like booty.

I am a 4b and I like Oyin Greg Juice and Kinky Curly Spiral Spritz both revive and moisturize my hair without creating frizz.

I like SIF too, find it calms the afternoon frizzies and gives some definition back. I don't get second day hair though, so can't help there. My hair's 3a/b.

On occasion I do this too, but I just mix a small amount right before I use it. Sometimes I'll add a little conditioner and/or gel, too.

Thanks so much to those who responded! It has really helped me look into new products. (Just what I needed).

re:coil and curl keeper mixed works great for fighting frizz and getting the curls back again! Sometimes I use a little gel but it generally begins to feel gross and sticky on dry hair

CelticCurls 10-19-2006 06:27 PM

I used to mix cond w/ water and spray, then reapply gel, cream, etc. Now I just run wet hands over my hair, apply Garnier Fructis Leave-in Cond Cream (Sleek & Shine formula) and go. It's cheap, lasts forever, and I only need one product now for consistent 2nd day hair. Who knew!

I'm a 3a and I use La Bella Lots of Curls and water in a spray bottle. Sometimes I use LA Looks Curls spray gel.

braydonfaith62 11-15-2006 07:16 AM

hi

Well I found for me I just spray it with water- that works for me for second day hair but it may not work for everyone.

LadyCurlyLocks 11-15-2006 07:53 AM

I spray my hair with lavender water to moisten it just a little (plus I love the smell :D), then scrunch with SIF since I have that, now. Works great!

curlyjenn 11-15-2006 08:53 AM

I use water with a lil bit of glycerin shaken up in it. It works GREAT!

Ab-star 11-15-2006 09:09 AM

The only thing that works for me so far is Set It Free.

Jaxie 11-15-2006 10:21 AM

I spray with my Lavender Spray and then scrunch in LA Looks Gel (the blue kind for curly hair). ~~jax
